this is the second time these people have called me.  the first time I gave them money because I was scared, then I cancelled payment once I actually thought about it.  was also told I wouldn't receive anything until paid in full.  this time they recorded something stating my name, and that if I didn't pay, that it would be used against me in a court of law. she first said I owed 1200  some odd dollars, but I said no way.  so she kindly put me on hold to speak to speak to the " lawyer"  which took all of 5 seconds.  they too have called my mother, sister in law, and step father, whom by the way hasn't been with my mother in 5 years, telling them all that there is charges pending in a case involving me, and that if I didn't call back, police would show up at my work. good to know all this information  thanks.the number they used came back as 855-823-1621.

These idiots called my husband looking for my daughter claiming she was about to be arrested. I called as her mother and knowing they would not talk to me and I would not give out information without knowing exactly who and what for I verified I was my daugter. Once she informed me she was in need of where I was so they could, I informed her that I was her mother and not her and that I was a Paralegal for the state of Texas and she better not ever call my husband at work again. I told her I had no phone number but I had an address. She got really smart and ugly and demanded my name I explained she didnt need my name but she could stop calling my house ten times a day and that she better never call my husband at work again. I finally just said you know what if your gonna be ugly "Good luck and find her yourself" and hung up. I had called annonomously from my work phone. I no more hung up and she calls back asking for the owner of the company and the receptionist caught on and she threatened her saying my daughter had just called from this number and claimed she was a paralegal so the receptionist came to me all upset and said I might want to take it. With her standing in my office I picked up the phone and said "this is her mother and I AM a Texas Paralegal and you better never ever call me or my husband at work again, the whole time she is smartass saying "what r u gonna do huh, what r u gonna do huh" I hung up. I am now filing a harrassment charge.

Want to fix it?
Google: (your state) "attorney general" (your area code)
Now you have your local Attorney General's phone number. Do this NOW:  Call it!  Report these pathetic excuses for collectors. They are uneducated and scamming you.  They'd rather threaten and lie then actually work for money.  True scum of the earth!
If you each take 5 minutes to stop them, they will get an attorney general investigation and later a law suit (criminal) against them, shutting them down in one month.

I received a call from 855-527-6366. Actually they left a message on my daughter's mother-in-laws home number and cell number. The message was that I had a former complaint against me at  the San Diego Superior Court.  I called and an automated voicemail with a women's voice on it said, "You've reached Alliance Solutions, and to wait on the line for the next legal advisor.

i have been getting calls from these idiot for over a month now first call was to my parents telling them they were the county court hose and i was going to go to jail if i didnt not contact them, my attorney has written and verbal statement about it i called and told them off gave them my case number but they wanted social security number for identity purposes i said why so you can steal my identity also they did not like that and i was told they were going to serve me a summons my response was no youre not getting my SS number and to validate the debt by US mail apparently they refuse and keep threatening me with a summons and i finaly told them today that they were suppose to serve me a month ago so there for i assume this is fraudulent case against me and you have no intention to serve me and all you want me to do is to give you money over the phone with no proof of who you are and i was told no we are going to serve you a summons if we do not come to an agreement at this moment and wanted my SS number again to tell me what the debt was again NO YOURE NOT GETTING MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER UNTIL YOU VALIDATE THE DEBT BY U.S MAIL AND TO SERVE ME MY SUMMONS MY ATTORNEY IS WAITING FOR ME TO HAND IT TO HIM SO WE CAN COUNTER SUE well they didnt like that and he hung up on me and 1 hour latter they called again and left a message same number but not alliance solutions so i guess they have different names alliance ??????

so word of advice do not give them any personal info over the phone and demand a debt validation sent by U.S mail, do not let them talk you into getting a pre paid debit card you can not trace exactly where youre money goes, do not accept a debt validation by e-mail they can create any thing and send it through e-mail and it is not legit and illegal the reason why they dont want to send you any thing by U.S mail is because it is punishable federal laws to use the U.S mail to send fraudulent material to scam money from people and can be traceable by post marks and if it dont have a return address its fraud.....no ligitimeant collection agency calls before validating the debt by mail it is the law they you have 30 days to comply if you do not then they can assume the debt is valid and then start calling you butyou and you only no parents or family not even your place of work

i hope this info helps some of you

i am a victim of identity theft and have been dealing with this kind of stuff for 3 years now

I have received several calls from these people. I told them I can't remember receiving this loan. They told me due to legal fees, interest and court cost I owe them $2300 now. They also stated that I had defrauded the company and they were going to serve me a summons and if so it would be even more and I could possibly go to jail. I gave them my card number to make a payment, but it was declined by my bank. They gave me a one day extension to check my account. I have changed my account number after reading these blogs today. They will not get a cent from me. I asked them to send me some proof. They claim to be a law firm that works for me also.

You never receive advance notice of arrest warrants, the police or sheriff simply show up and arrest you.  This is most likely a debt collector using illegal theats to try and get you to pay.  If you are postive that there are no overdue loans or credit cards or other debts have your husband explain to his employer that you are the vicitm of an extortion scam.  Most employers will be on the side of their employee in situations like this.  If you do actually owe money and are way past due, contact the company you owe and see what you can find out.  Also, go to the FTC website and search for the Consumer Guide to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.  That will tell you your rights, what collectors can and cannot due and what collectors are required to provide to you to prove you owe the debt and they are legally permitted to collect. Do NOT admit to the debt over the phone but only in writing after you receive proper written validation of the debt as required by law.  If you do owe money, you may wish to obtain a lawyer to help you deal with the collector to ensure your rights are not violated and that you are treated fairly.

received a call frm #855-565-3663, a man with a very deep & stern voice inquired about my husband. He said it concerned 'closed court document', when I asked what the call was in regards to, he went on to inform me that my husband was to make an appearance in court.  And the worst of it all is he also called a family member & my husbands employer--He told them that if my husband didnt respond, that he would be lead out of his company in 'Handcuffs'!!! Now thats very frightening, because of this particular phone call, my husband could lose his job. His employer is not going to stand for incidents like that. Does anyone know if it us true that they can & will go to someone's place of employment???? Please help-We are extremely concerned...

Caller claimed to be calling to contact an extended family member of mine who does not and has not ever lived at this address or telephone number.  Claimed they were process servers from Kent County, RI.  I called the number because I knew it was a scam.  The "senior legal advisor" refused to give me a physical address for his business (Alliance Solutions) and refused to disclose the name of his client.  If you google "Alliance Solutions Debt Collection) you will see many instances of this same exact scenario played out with different telephone numbers.

This is not a legitimate attempt at debt collection.  If you are reading this because you received a call from 888-612-0382, please add your name to the response list to forewarn other consumers.

Thank you. I do know these things, but it freaks me out when they call! Since they won't give me their address, I emailed them with my request today. They cannot readily provide those documents..I said we'll then take time to do it!  They started to get defensive with me. I then asked the guy if he would like it if someone called him demanding money etc and he wouldn't answer my question. I told him it was like having a conversation with a politician..he didn't think that was funny. He also didn't like it when I informed him I was still going to research this.

Then I suggest you treat them like SCAMMERS and apply the whistle, air horn or screaming smoke alarm with gusto!

The FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf treats the INITIAL CONTACT between collector and debtor (first call, first letter, first whatever) as a special event. Legit collectors per section 809 of the FDCPA *must* tell you at initial contact, or send you paperwork within 5 days of initial contact, the following:
1. $amount of debt,
2. name of the current creditor (which may differ from the original creditor who might have sold your debt),
3. a statement that that debt will be assumed to be valid unless you dispute in writing within 30 days,
4. a statement that that if you do dispute in writing within 30 days, the collector must mail you written verification of the debt,
5. a statement that if you ask the collector in writing within 30 days, the collector must send you the name and address of the original creditor if it's different from the current creditor.
If you don't get the 5 disclosures, orally or in writing (you do not have to ask for them, the FDCPA requires collectors to provide them), treat the collector like you would any SCAMMER.
Note that 3,4,5 must be done *IN WRITING* so you will need to ask an address from your collector. If s/he refuses to give you one for any reason, treat the collector like a SCAMMER.
The collector can threaten court action at initial contact but the FDCPA requires that the collector actually take you to court if the collector threatens it. Threatening court and not going through with it (coercion) is illegal.
If they say the FDCPA does not apply to them because they own your debt, the debt-owner exemption only applies to the original owner. A 3rd party who buys the debt for the purpose of collecting debt is treated as a debt collector and not an owner and must obey the FDCPA as explained in this FTC Staff Opinion letter here http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/letters/arbuckle.htm
You can tape phone calls per your state law described here http://www.fairdebtforconsumers.com/Recording-Laws-Summaries.html
You can tape, then sue collectors (google "fdcpa attorney") for violations described in sections 805, 806, and 807, per section 813 of the FDCPA.
Has the statute of limitations for your state http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/SOL-by-State.html expired on your debt? If expired, don't pay.
Collectors generally have to be licensed by your state to practise (collect debt) in your state and you can find out by calling your state Attorney Generals Office. Ask if a license is required and does this collector have one. If not licensed, don't pay and file a complaint with your state AG.
Read useful debt-collection FAQs from the FTC here http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm
