This caller calls constantly, especially at dinnertime.  How can we stop them?

It is the American Lung Association.

Suspected it was some kind of scam call so I didn't answer.  No message was left.  Caller ID displayed '800 Service' so I knew I didn't want to answer.

These calls are annoying and persistant. Please stop.

It is amazing to me that these folks actually think that annoying people at all hours of the day and night all the days of the week is really an effective way to get people to support their causes!

Have several calls.  Don't answer as caller ID does not tell me who it is.

Yesterday it was 855-632-3127, today 3125. I answered and spoke gibberish (foreigh language to them) and they hung up on me. Same time both days. The name comes up "private name" on my phone and "anonymous" on my tv. I am going to finesse my gibberish.  B-)

Autodialed.  No message.  Also calls from 855-632-3124.

Repeated calls asking for Mr. Griffin. Mr. Griffin has not lived her in 15 years

I have a feeling, after reading the other posts, that this is a scammer masquerading as the American Lung Association.  I have received numerous calls over the last few weeks from:

I don't answer, and there's no voice mail.  I have Comcast and followed the steps to place these numbers on my blocked list (hang up, then pick up the phone, dial *60 and follow the instructions) but Comcast only lets you block 12 numbers.  This one outfit alone has already used up four!

If we all start raising this issue with the politicians who want to get elected this year, I think we CAN put a stop to it! This website is a good place for those of us who are outraged at these robocalls to compare experiences and get information. Then let's get in the faces of the politicians. They are the ones who can change the laws to stop this practice!

After dozens of robocalls from this number, I sent an email to info@lung.org and just received this reply:

"Thank you for contacting the American Lung Association.  We are very sorry that you have been inconvenienced by our telephone calls.  We will remove you from our call list as it is not our intention to contact people who do not want to be contacted.  It usually takes about 24 hours to remove your number from the list.  Please accept our apology."

Needless to say, I don't entirely accept their apology, but at least I'll apparently get my phone number removed from that list. Now there's Habitat for Humanity and some others yet to go!

I recieve at least 2 call a day from this company about refinancing a mortgage using this and several  other extentions 3124 to 3127. They call as early as 830am and as late as 915pm. I don't even have a mortgage.

This number just called at 9 am and woke me up (2nd shifter).  I don't answer these calls but keep track. 855.632.3125, 3126,3124,3123, and 3121 have now called me six days out of the last seven. If the ALA had sent a letter in the mail I "might" have donated but I will NEVER give them a cent now due to their harrassment phone calls!  Just why do non profits and political calls get a free pass on the DO NOT CALL list??

Even after being told to stop calling, they continue.  I want it stopped.

Get calls every day from this number - no one there..... I'm on the "do not call" list... but that does not seem to help!  Can only hope these people get on their on call list....

disgusting - even on a Sunday

I have received this annoying call numerous times over the past couple months -- at all hours weekday or weekend including just now on a Sunday.   I never answered.   There's got to be a way to cut it out  !!!

It is the American Lung Association. I called it back and got a recording. There were steps to follow to have your number removed from their calling list. Hope it works!

please stop this number from calling me constantly at all hours of the day and more than 3 times a day.  please help.  please don't make me disconnect my phone because of these unwanted calls.

Same here. This is an epidemic! I'm on the Do Not Call List, which I know doesn't apply to Political and Chairty organizations, but it seems to me it's a stupid policy for any organization that wants money from the public. Now that I know about the American Lung Association and Habitat for Humanity, they'll never again get a dollar of my money.

THEY HAVE BEEN CALLING EVERYDAY BETWEEN 6:30PM & 7:00PM. THEY NEVER SAY ANYTHING, JUST HANG UP WHEN I ANSWER.

THERE WAS ONE CALL WHEN A LADY TOLD ME THAT SHE WS CALLING TO LESSEN MY MORTGAGE PAYMENT. I TOLD HER THAT I WAS NOT INTERESTED AND THE MY PHONE NUMBER WAS A "NO CALL" NUMBER. SHE SAID THAT IT DID NOT APPLY TO THEM. I TOLD HER TO TAKE MY NUMBER OFF THEIR LIST...BUT ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED IS THAT I GET THE CALLS EVERY DAY NOW.

WHY CAN THESE PEOPLE DO THIS HARASSMENT AND NOT HAVE TO ANSWER FOR IT. IT IS SO WRONG...A TYPE OF STALKING.

It is not ALA, it is lower your credit card interest b***s***.

True, but...if you ask them to stop calling you, they are supposed to stop.

Hope you don't get any more but they are under no obligation to remove your number.  Non profits and charities such as the the American Lung Assoc are exempted from the the Do Not Call list.  In 2007-2009 Congress added other groups to the exemption list.  Telemarketers working for charities, any Non profit or Not for profit group, any group with a political affiliation of any kind is exempt, Unions are exempt, Any group that is affiliated in any way with police, fire, or some sort of emergency org.  In short, don't hold your breath, the Do Not Call act has been de-clawed, de-fanged, and hog tied.  It's not worth the paper it's printed on now.
