This number has been calling me and is definitely a scam. They also have been calling and offering free medical coverage through the government.

Called my mother today and said was calling on behalf of her bank regarding a large purchase for some computer parts. The caller read off my mother's account number and bank routing number which in turn scared her. He said she would be getting info  in the mail about this supposed check in the amount of $389. The caller stated this is why his company does this -- to stop fraud on the elderly. What a crock!  Had I not spoken to her today and googled this number, she would have been ripped off like the ones above.  Hopefully she contacted her bank in time to avoid the funds from being taken out of her account.  This will be reported to our state's attorney general.

More info... with my mom a man called her yesterday and told her there was a problem with her checking account and someone was trying to cash a fraudulent check.  She thought he was from her bank.  He asked her all kinds of questions about numbers on her check "to verify".  She complied and got stuck.  She is going to the bank this morning to see what can be done.

So I called these people and got the response that it must've been authorized by my father. I asked them to cancel service, they advised they could cancel service, They will send a check 2-3 weeks. I asked them about overdraft fees, they will not cover them. I do not know if they'll issue check or not. I am taking no chances and immediately going to my bank to declare FRAUD on them. I will give the bank the check to deposit once it gets received-that is if it gets received-. I know their agents conned my Dad into giving his information, like hes going to overdraft his account for some worthless service that can't help him. I will be changing account number before any other items are charged. Sickening how they can get away with this crap. someones gotta stop them. I file any complaint that is required, with any agency that needs it

The same thing happened to my mother except they charged 279.00. Thankfully, my mom gave them a number of a closed account. She is 90 years old and easilly confused, thankfully this time it was in her favor as the bank of course refused the draft.

My mother just got a call this afternoon with the same stories.  A group just like this had swindled money out of her bank account a couple of months ago.  These people acted like they got some of the money back and wanted to deposit it in her account.  She gave them her number and I hope she get's to the bank tomorrow before they can wire any out.  I truely feel for our elderly!  They even gave her a "file number", a person's name to call back with an extension.  They talked about the same exact dollar amount of $279.

Prank Call
My 90-year old aunt unfortunately got a call from this number - saying "Fraud Watch" and she believed them because somehow a few months ago someone got her SS# and opened charge accounts in her name, so she thought it was related.  She called us within a couple of hours and related the calll to us.  We assured her that this had to be fraudulant and not related, because if it was, they would already know any necessary numbers.  She went to the bank and they put a block on her account, but she still has to open a new account and arrange to change all of her automatic deposits and online banking.

Warn ALL of your elderly relatives to NEVER give out their personal numbers to anyone, or at least tell the caller to hold on while they GOOGLE their phone number, wait one minute (make a little noise as if leaving the  phone).  They may assume you have Caller ID and hang up.

I do not understand how this could possibly be legal.  These people DEFINETELY target elderly people telling them they are calling from their local bank and trying to stop an unauthorized transaction; then trick them into giving out banking information in order to STEAL from them.  Luckily my parents' bank actually checks into these ODD transactions and calls my parents to verify if legit or not --HAH HAH to you FRAUDWATCH!!!!!!!  This was about the fifth time that they have attempted to steal from my parents and  when you call them (because they actually put a phone # on a dummy ck) they have the audacity to be rude to whoever calls and questions them.  They even hung up on me today when I accussed them of stealing and I called back, and called back and called back and you know what is weird the same operator answered the phone every time and I told her to get a real job and stop aiding in stealing from the elderly

Fraudwacth also called my 84 year old mother and talked her into giving her account number. My mother informed me of the phone call stating the man was rude and pushy telling her he was from the bank. I called the bank and asked them if they had called but was informed no. I gave them a heads up yet I just saw the statement and Fraudwacth swindled her out of $279 dollars. How can the keep doing this? Why do banks keep paying known swindlers on old customer accounts? Why are they not in jail??

They got my 81 yr old mother also. $279.00 was withdrawn from her account. It does not sound like we can get it back. I did report it to her bank and will follow up with whatever agencies necessary.

They got my mom's bank account # and charged her $ 139.50 . They are calling themselves Fraudwatch. cant seem to find any information. My mom says her caller ID said the call was from Miami. I called them and they would not refund her money unless she called them or I sent them a power of attorney. She is going to close her account and dispute the charges. Seems like they prey on elderly folks.

My widower handicapped Aunt keeps getting calls from the number, the guy says he has money for her and wants her new banking account and routing numbers so that he can give it to her.  He says he is from Regions Bank (a bank in the south) and his name is Randy Johnson.  He isn't the only caller, others with a similar story have called in the past.

She gave them the info previously, which is why she had to close her old account.

The number is 855-649-0679.

They keep calling my mother and trying to get her to give them her bank account number for Financial Fraud - 279.00 or 297.00

They called last week and this week.  They call every year and they finally talked my 82 year old mother into giving them her account number last year.

We changed her account number and now they are trying again.

I called and they said they would put her on the no call list.  Yah.
