Got a call from a "Court Clerk" today from (305)351-4020 in from Miami, FL at 6:05PM (I'm in Mass) telling me that I have a case number and to call these people at (855) 667-0592.
When I did, the guy (With bad Chinese accent) couldn't find the number, he was able to look "the case" up by name. It was concerning a 13 year old debt from when my identity was stolen as a child. I brought up that my identity was stolen when I was 10, and pointed out that the statute of limitations had long since run its course.
He quickly and aggressively replied that I was making payments on the debt (yeah right) until 2008 and stopped. I called bull, as I alerted the financer of the theft in 2007, and that I have documents proving I was underage at the date of account opening which makes it invalid. I also stated that there are currently no accounts owed, or public records open on any of the three reporting agencies, and if he wanted to collect any money he would have to serve me.
"You want to be served?" he said, to which I replied "I would love to be served! I will bring my birth certificate into court and make you look like an imbecile." He then yelled something along the lines of "THEY WILL GAHNISH YOUR WAGES!" and some other stuff. When I told him he would have to serve me first and that the call was being recorded by google voice, he hung up.
Always be prepared when talking with "Law Offices".
As a back story, I never fully cleared up my identity theft, however, it happened so long ago and only through one financial company. My credit is currently perfect with no public records and no reports of late payments ANYWHERE. To report that my identity was stolen 13 years ago now, would turn my credit into a tailspin. I use my rewards cards for EVERY purchase and pay off in FULL every month on the day the bill is payable. I do not work this hard on my credit to be bothered by idiots.

Patrick, I believe you work for the so-called "debt collectors" too. I am an attorney and just received a voicemail message with "threat" of service of civil summons. If a debt is owed, there should be some written notice of demand for payment or some prior communication if you have an address to "serve" a civil summons. Additionally, if you check with the local clerk of court, they can verify that no civil complaint has been filed in your name. I know we all need jobs but stop with the threats!

Got a call today too saying he was a process server in Texas; said someone gave them my number as contact person. I'd never heard of the person but said I wanted to know what was going on since my identity could be in jeopardy. Then he changed his tune. Weird! I'm willing to report this to the Attorneys General of the State of Texas and the State of California.

I want to know what CITY this call came from so that I can report them. There are Rosenberg & Associates all over California so I need to know the town. This is a toll-free number Any body know where they are?

I received a second call today, he caller stating he was a process server and leaving a number for a call to be returned. I did call back and when I stated that I am sending notice of their attempts to collect a non-existent debt by certified mail, with certified mail copies to the Attorneys General of the State of Texas and the State of California, they could no longer find the account. I believe that is illegal to represent one's self as an officer of the court and this offense is punishable by fine and imprisonment. If everyone would do the same, these scum-bags would be put out of business

Very aggresive debt collectors, did not want to send proof of debt and threatened court. Called my work also and left message.
