My father got the same letter in the mail and got so excited. I told him it was a scam but he did not believe me. I took the letter and told him I would look into it. I actually didn't call instead I googled and found this website. Thanks guys for writing your feedback. I can now show my dad this is a SCAM. Too good to be true.

I figured it was a scam but I called anyway knowing that there is no harm as long as I don't give any financial or personal info.  They started asking me to pay upfront for my "port taxes" and then I would get the reservation info and "confirmation" number.  I laughed and hung up.

Haha!!!  I met Lisa Jackson... She's a stripper offering lap dances to "qualified" customers. Plus you get a happy ending with every dance.. Learned to find out the dance was free but the cost for handling, and other expenses (clean-up) was over $1400.00!!!!  More than the original $20 dance I wanted.  It's a SCAM. Don't fall for it.  I caught on after the 4th day. Realized this was a SCAM and will not return to provide my secret code at bottom of letter (2GJ0611A).

Also got a letter saying I "Won the Ireland Lottery"  Hell, I'm not even Irish.  I though you had to be a n illegal from Mexico to win the lottery?

Just sharing my  experience and where I believe I received this notification:
My daughter was excited as she opened this mail. Thank god for this 800notes.com site
and thank you all for the heads up.
Being a victim of identity theft and still clearing everything up to get my credit score up there again,
I found that I started receiving a bunch of solicitation calls and 'junk' mail such a this when I applied
for a 'rewards' card from an elaborate store Nxxxxstroms. I've been very careful on providing my phone
number, (new)  email address to anyone.

I too received this letter today from Lisa Jackson. I did not call the number, I googled it to confirm that it is a scam. Thank you prior posters for putting in your comments and doing all the research.  Naturally I won't call the number.
Relevant info from the letter:
Header:      Fly With Any US Airline  (no mention of any specific airline at all)
Date:         June 24, 2014 (mailing date) and "must respond no later than July 15th, 2014"
Offer:         Value up to $1398.00
Claim No:  70-000-0740
Code:        2JF0624M
Return address:  none - used bulk mailing permit #78 from Tampa Fl

Looks like a scam to me just opening the letter. It mentions 2 round-trip airline tickets and two nights at any one of over 1000 Marriott Hotel locations. Then it has the disclaimer on the back of the letter that it isn't affiliated with Marriott. In fact, the full disclaimer is interesting - and a dead give a away that this is a scam:

Disclaimer Quote: "Certain Restrictions Apply. Call For Details. Taxes & registration fees and/or processing fees are the responsibility of the recipient. This promotion is not sponsored by or affiliated with Marriott or any other third party business referenced in this promotion but they are major suppliers."

Thanks so much for the investigating. I received the same letter and figured it was a scam. Same deal with the "previous attempts" line. One always hopes for something great for free, but unfortunately it just doesn't happen. I sat through a high pressure sales pitch for a vacation deal when a friend and I had just gotten to Las Vegas. Someone by the check-in desk at our hotel gave us this "great offer". We went because they said it was only a ten minute shuttle ride and a half hour talk. We were promised 80 bucks each. It took a good 20 minutes to get there and the sales pitch was going over an hour. My displeasure must have been obvious because the salesman asked me if I was bored. He looked mad when I said "Yes!", and my friend was embarrassed. I don't usually speak up but I was really annoyed. The guy still droned on and sent us to his manager who started another sales pitch that had cheaper deals. We finally were released. They tried to give us only 80 dollars altogether. We complained and finally got the money, but what a miserable experience. They really have some well-trained people putting the pressure on you, so I can imagine what this scam is like. Thanks for the info.

I also got a letter and called just for fun. They claim that there is a local business that they are marketing for, of course there is none. My suggestion is for everyone to go ahead and register for the meeting (they have to pay for the meeting room) and then simply do not show up! Let them fill all their meetings with bogus clients. Makes me feel good even if its not much. For every seat you sign up for is a seat that cannot be used to scam someone else.

I don't know why everyone keeps saying calls and letters from Lisa Jackson are a scam. I responded and they sent me everything they promised plus gave me a tax free check for $1,000,000 along with a new car and a years worth of gas. Lisa personally gave me a massage and took me out to dinner where I was served filet mignon. The hotel was top rated ( I think I got the Presidential suite), the seats in the airline were in first class plus they gave me a limo ride to the hotel. So, just remember the fact that I made up this entire letter and everything I said here is a lie. Don't think no one is going to scam you or that everyone in the world is honest and don't be a jerk by responding to this type of letter. If you do, you deserve what you get.

Got the same mailer with a different "code".
Dead give-away on these is the lack of return address or ANY grandstanding by the people that are claiming to be giving away such an expensive prize.
There are companies that DO give away big prizes for promotional reasons. The key there is "PROMOTIONAL". The whole point behind them spending that kind of cash on a random person is to generate a lot of buzz about their company.
SO ... if you see an offer like this and no company has placed their name on it in a very bold and proud manor .... it IS a scam.

BTW - if you want to see a detailed explanation of the specific scam that is going on with THIS letter, click to the first page of comments for this number. Someone did a lot of research into it and has a very good explanation.

Same letter!! I keep getting a call from john king telling me to call back before 1pm the next day. I'm wondering if the two are related. John king calls from "unknown". I'm on the do not call list, as well, so I'm not sure why I still receive these calls.
