Just got a call, and left 8 sec barely intelligible message.  With this reporting forum thread's comments, I could barely tell that, yes, they were talking about something with continuing education. ..

I just got a call from 8558200433. I thought it may be an employer because I has applied positions on web, so I picked up the phone. They ask me about what kind job did you apply? what kind degree and certification do you have? and want to ask me questions. I ask them to email me the questions, and they said they can't.  I can't talk more at this time. so I hang up.

They were asking what specific career or job I was applying for. As far as I'm concerned they called me, I did not call them. They said they noticed I was job searching, so what, none of their business. They were asking personal questions, for what.

This is a company by the name of (AMTC) Actors Models Talent for Christ. They advertise all over the USA with billboards, major web presence etc., and acting as if they are auditioning you for acting jobs or whatever in the entertainment industry. But you may discover it's not their prime objective. They tell you they will train you for a major on-stage audition somewhere, like in Florida or whatever, before casting professionals. and wind up charging you about $5000.00 to do this and that does not include your air fare nor your hotel stay for a week or so. By the time it's all over, your about $7,000.00 in the hole and you pay it because you're hungry. You pay it because you'll do anything for your precious child. You pay it because they are very good with their sales pitch. You simply buy into the idea that you are about to be discovered and become a big major star. I feel the tragic part of it as well, is that, they use religion as a hook and you feel that it must be legit. After investigating some prior victims, most realize that they were taken for a ride but some actually say that it was fun and worth it, because they had a good time on stage and socializing with others during the week. I guess something like a vacation. Some say, it was fun and say, "I found out that I needed training". I would guess that those were mostly people who could afford the financial hit they took. Woo to those who couldn't and scrapped to get the money together. I say, "Why did they take your money in the first place, when they could tell that you needed training?". What I understand, thru research and not actually going thru their program is, the training they profess, is only geared to prepare you for that so-called audition show, not what it really takes to do various actual professional auditions everywhere. In that case alone, you would be best served to go out and get professional training at a rate of about $300 for ten week periods, to learn acting, dance, modeling , etc. AND certainly take a good audition workshop afterwards. There are a couple of these type organizations out there and not all are religious based, and they usually don't start by telling you about some big showcase. No, they start out with a group meeting and just tell you about your great potential and they will train you. Then afterwards, ease into selling you on a headshot program that you need and maybe a promo demo DVD that they will charge you for etc. That should be the first indication that they are about to start eating away at your pocketbook. Legit agents, don't get into that stuff. People, please, as soon as anyone starts promoting and charging you for some BIG, get discovered quick, show, that puts you into a thousands-of-dollars hole, my advice is RUN and as fast as you can. You should know, at that point, that you're probably in the wrong place. My advice is to go places like The Chicago Actors Studio, Piven Workshops or Victory Gardens and other good workshops, for example. It takes time to develop one's skills. There are many with raw talent. There are few that are skilled. Talent is a drug on the market. Learned skills will out perform anyone with just raw talent. My advice is, be good to yourself and don't waste your precious time and hard earned money that you don't have much of. If you're independently wealthy and want to have a good time and you have professional training under your belt, then go ahead. Sign up and have a good time. Otherwise if these so-called casting pros, that are supposed to see you, are legit, they will only learn that you are not anywhere up to par with a level of skills necessary to make it in the business, and by the way, they WILL remember you for it. I don't think that is a good reputation to establish. That's my advice and learned opinion. This is from someone who is a working professional in the business. Wishing you all much happiness and success.

This number called me twice today. I chose to not answer the first time, but due to it possibly being something important, and curiosity, I answered the second time and it was someone discussing the furthering of my education. They came on a bit strong and a conversation could barely be kept due to communication issues, mostly technical. A strange event but at least I know it was nothing important.

They called my house and when I answered they sat there like a mute! I called the number back and some girl answered and sounded like she was swallowing the phone. I heard her say something about education. I told her who I was, that they had just called me but didn't speak when I answered. I told her I guess they haven't been taught how to speak, that I just wanted to know who called, and now I know. I said "Thank You" and hung up! I should have called the number and just laid down the phone! I'm tired of depending on this useless government to step in and protect my rights! I'm going to make each of these callers' lives a living hell, without any physical threats of course! I just enjoy answering the phone and wasting their time! The longer I keep them on the line, the more they miss their quota!

They call my cell twice a day. Even as late as seven or eight at night. They are a job placement site that talks about furthering your career with education. It's usually a foreign guy whose calling. Really annoying and they don't quit. I am calling my cell provider to block them, maybe others should do the same.
