I got the same thing from Continental airlines promising the free hotel stay too but it was addressed to my dad. No where on any document anywhere has my dad's name and my address as one...He has never lived at my house and I think its a scam.

I believe you will get the free flights....I've done these before.  You must probably sit in on some kind of buy in on something...if you notice it states it is not Timeshare or Land Sale Offer.  But it must be something they want you to look at that costs big money.  If you are good at sitting there and just saying "no", you do get the trip.  I am sometimes willing to do this, but husband does not want to.

I received the same postcard offering 2 round trip tickets plus hotel. We checked Delta's official site and there's no mention of such deal. Besides, some of the letters on the front of the card are blurred, like it was taken out of the printer too quick! SCAM!!!!

Got the same card in Cleveland, Ohio.  Notably, it doesn't say "free" anywhere!  Of course they want you to assume that.

Biggest red flag: Nice huge Delta logo on the front, "DELTA" in largest type on back, and small print: "This offer is not sponsored by or affiliated with Delta Airlines but they are a major supplier."  So they've just admitted misleading you.  ("Major supplier"??  I'm sure Delta will "supply" tickets to just about anyone willing to pay for them).

And of course there's no actual sender's name anywhere on the card.

Can you spell S-C-A-M????

Have not gotten telephone calls from this number, but received a postcard (with no return address) in the U.S. Mail today offering "Complementary [sic] 7 Day/6-Night Cruise for 2, leaving from any major port  in the U.S." and plus "Call within 48 hours, you will receive as a bonus 2 Round Trip Airfares Leaving from or Going to Any Major Airport in the Continental  U.S.!!"   The number on the card is 1-855-842-0415.

Card suggests that this is with "Carnival" (includes the stack logo, but nowhere the full name of the cruise line,  and includes a disclaimer that "this promotion is not sponsored by or affiliated with Carnival Cruise Lines, but they are a major supplier."  (That sounds way too much like the "major award" from "The Christmas Story"!), and a flag logo that looks similar to U.S. Air's but the actual printed  language by the logo is "Fly a US AIRLINES".

There are several forums at Cruise Critic and similar sites detailing the fact that this is an on-going scam (including links to nj.com about criminal charges having been brought against some of the perps), including a photo of one recipient of a card that looks almost identical to the one I received today.  So it appears criminal charges against a couple of folks (underlings no doubt) is just a speed bump to continuing with the next round of mailings.

Sounds like they don't just wait for their scam line to ring based on the postcards, but are eager to perpetrate the fraud by any available means, including calls.

Event Reminder
Funny I just got one in the mail. The phone number is not what caught my attention it was actually what it advertised.  I had won a 7 day 6 night cruise with carnival.  The port of call were Los Angeles, then Freeport Bahamas and last was St Thomas.  One do I get to go around the horn or through the panama canal to get from LA to St Thomas and why would one to the bahamas from LA only to end up in St Thomas.

The number is 1-855-842-0415.

I just called and they asked for my name (i didn't tell them my real name), and then proceeded to ask a bunch of questions to see if I qualified for their "presentation".  They also said something about a local magazine.  Anyway the questions were : Are you married?  Do you own or work for a travel agency?  Do you carry a Visa/Mastercard when you travel?  Are you within the ages of 30-70?  And do you and your spouse combined make more than $60K a year.  Since we don't make more than $60K, he said in a sad voice, "Aw, I'm sorry you don't qualify to come to our presentation and recieve your special gift.

I knew in the beginning it was a joke, but just wanted to call and see what it was all about.

I also received a post card congratulating me...    It says nothing about "winning" anything. It says "you have been selected to receive"  That is different than saying you have " won" ...   I was hesitating about responding to this, but I think I will.  There is always some stings to any give away but calling to find out what is involved  will not force you to commit to anything you don't want.  You just have to say "No Thank You"  When I do make the  call, I will let you know the outcome.

I got a post card that had false DELTA advertising on it. It states that the sucker that dails this number has "won" 2 free round trip DELTA tickets. It adds a 3 day, 2 night hotel stay if the sucker calls with in 48 hours. (48 hours of what? There is not way to know when a post card arrives, so that in itslef should raise a red flag)
Phone companies should be required to verify a business lisence and valid business crednetials PRIOR to allowing access to any phone number. But they are only after the money. If you can ask for anumber, you get it.
Also, no one but the phone company should be allowed to create the ID of the call. BUT, crooks are allowed to place any ID they want so it shows up as a number other than what it really is.
This could be stopped if everyone would do their part.
First, you will never "WIN" anything that you did not register for and know about up front. Next, hold phone companies partialy responsible for any and all losses and they will come to the table and police these issues like they should be doing.
