Found this number on several sites. They claim to give you a 50 dollar utility rebate and ask you to hold for more information. I have always hung up but I caught a girl off guard today and told her about the several user reports that suggest her company "Selective Services" is a scam...she wanted to google and read herself. She was way nicer than the usual person who calls. Hope these calls stop.

these people keep calling me and nobody is on the line...then it hangs up...if you call it back the recording gives you 2 options   1 to speak with someone ( no one answers ) and 2 to be taken off list.  I opted for #2 but the keep calling.... time to report to DNC list...$11,000.00 fine

Keep getting calls from this number and the other end is blank. No one ever says anything yet it doesn't hang up either?

If you are a small company and you can have all your phone calls forwarded to your Verizon cell phone, there is a solution. On the Verizon Wireless web site you can have up to five numbers blocked, no charge.  I just added 855-842-2125 to blocked numbers and I won't hear from them for at least 90 days.  The most frustrating call to receive is 000-000-0000.  For some reason, Verizon's block does not work with this number.

They called and said I'd earned a $50 rebate on my phone bill this month. They simply needed to verify some information. Sounded totally fishy to me, so I hung up when they put me on hold -- and immediately checked out this site, and now feel glad I didn't fall for their scheme!  BEWARE!!

I have a small office with no front office staff so it is VERY irritating to get these calls. This happened about a month ago, different toll-free number. I called back on my cell and told them to remove my business number. All quiet for a while, now this is starting up again.

dead air, indentify and then they go into pitch. we are on a do not call list, guess they don't care. i also press any number and hold it down for 1 min., it squeals in their ear. amazing sometimes they are still there, then i just hang up

This is a clear and obvious scam. First they claimed they were with the "phone company" and offered rebates. I asked the name of the company and they said "IT Services". They were quick to hang up when quizzed for info. As somebody else said, they just want you to say "yes" at some point and then start billing you - probably through your phone bill. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CONTACT YOUR TELEPHONE CARRIER AND INFORM THEM THAT YOU DO NOT AUTHORIZE THIRD-PARTY CHARGES AND THAT YOU WILL NOT PAY THEM! Verizon doesn't formally allow you to opt-out of third-party charges, but a certified, return-receipt letter to them in advance stating that you will not pay third-party charges and that you strongly advise they block same from your account provides you with substantial legal protections.

Keep calling every day, leaving no message.

They have called me everyday for the last two- three weeks! Same time everyday its a pain in my a@@. I now just send it to fax and hope they will get the loud BBBBLLLLLEEEEEPPPPPP in their ear and quit calling.

They called on April 12, 2011 at 2:47 PM, offered a $50 rebate on my utilities, I hung up.

i just got a call and they hung up..i called the number you provided and they gave me 813-885-1626 someone picked up and i told them to take me out thier calling list..stupid scammers have nothing better else to do

This company called us today.  A woman named Crystal said she wanted to send coupons for rebates on tech support and utility bills.  Before I could say anything, she put me on hold for the verification person.  A man named Chris, came on the line.  I then told him that we are on the Do Not Call Registry, thanked him for the call and for both of them iding themselves.  I hung up, got online and reported them to the Registry.

After getting one of these calls before I looked up the number and found this thread. Same call happened to me twice, but this time I stopped the girl and said "I read about this scam after googling it" and she acted shocked and confused. She wanted to google this as well, and I told her how I found it. I feel bad for her, she seemed very nice...unlike the other person who had been calling. No doubt its a scam, they don't provide services to us.

Has called numerous times but no one is there. Obviously telemarketer. And we're on a no-call list!

The guy talked so fast I couldn't understand him, something about a rebate and for me to hold to verify my information. I hung up on them.

I don't answer calls from numbers that I don't recognize on my caller ID, but this one has now called 4 times. I guess I will block their number now.

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS 855-842-2125 NUMBER--AT FIRST IT SHOWED THE INCOMING CALL ON MY CALLER ID AS MY HUSBAND'S CELL NUMBER-AND MY HUSBAND WAS WITH ME WITH HIS PHONE, WHICH HAPPENED TO BE SHUT OFF--WHEN I ANSWERED THE LANDLINE PHONE THE WOMAN DIDN'T IDENTIFY HERSELF EXCEPT TO SAY TEK SUPPORT AND $50 REBATE, AT WHICH POINT I HUNG UP.  I CALLED MY CELL CARRIER AND THEY INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO SUSPICIOUS SET UP WITH THE CELL PHONE.  I WILL NOW CALL MY LANDLINE TO REPORT.

Called again today, this time it wasn't someone blindly reading a script. After she gave her name and the company I told her "We are not interested and if you call again I'm calling the FCC."

I really wish our phone company made it at all possible to block nuisance calls.

I just got this call for the umpteenth time at work. I work in Manhattan and our electric is included w/the rent. And we're on the Do Not Call Registry. Go figure.

When you call that number, it says to call 813-885-1626.

I, too have gotten the silent treatment when answering the call from this number. I know it by heart now so next time I won't answer it.

They called, per our policy I put them on hold right away to see if they'd hang up. They didn't. When I picked up a woman was reading a script - clearly didn't even notice that I had put her on hold - and I was transfered to "Vinnie" from the "Verification Department" of "Select Services." They wanted to send a $50 rebate for our utility bills if we could just share some information with them.

I said "No thank you" and hung up. But from what I'm reading above, this won't stop them.

Have received a "dead air" call every (work)day since the beginning of the month, am looking into how to block the call.

This number has called my office every day for at least the past 6 days.  However, when I answer they hang up in my ear.  I called the number from our fax line, blocking the number, and got a recording saying "you have reached selective services" and then rattled off another number to call a rep which was an 813 number - FL - gee, you think it's a scam of some sort??

Dead air...so I hung up.  Good choice I see.

Got a call at our business three times already this week. First two there was no one there. This morning, February 2nd, a guy named Todd stated that they had a rebate for our company and to please hold while he verified our information. Music came on line..... so I hung up.  Had to shut down machinery to answer a call from some idiot. Good thing we have caller ID. Next time he gets a loud squeal in his ear.

They called a few minutes ago.  I did not say anything when I picked up the phone because I do not recognize the number, and they didn't say anything either.  So I hung up.  I have seen this number on my ID more than five times this month.  This is so intrusive and annoying!

Pretty much the same as above.  They said, "This is Select Services and we are your tech support company. We are sending out your $50 rebate for your utilities.  Please hold while I verify your information."  A recorder clicked on and I said, "I don't think so," and hung up.

Have rec'd. more than enough of these phone calls already this week-it's Tuesday!- and have requested our number be removed from their list every time.  A woman whose English was barely understandable told me yesterday I would get $50 from them to help with any tech or utiliity support.  I questioned her over and over about who?why? etc. and then she put me on hold after I gave her no information.  Never did get a real name of the company- just we are a tech support.
