I received a call from the 720-708-1000, don't remember the guys name but my dad answered the phone first and gave the phone to me because he didn't understand what the guy was saying (foreigner). The guy gave me the spiel about my computer as well saying it was corrupted etc. I gave the phone to my husband and he tried giving him the same BS as well and my husband told him he's an IT Consultant (which he really is) and they guy hung up on him, mainly because he knew my husband wouldn't fall for it. DO NOT GIVE ANYONE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER!!!!  If you want to get them off the phone tell them anything that has to do with IT and they will hang up on you.

I also received a phone call from a John Lamster  stating that he was calling to tell me that I had a  severe micro soft problem on my computer and that it was going to crash now. He stated that he was not with the company Micro soft but that he was going to fix all my micro soft problems. John then stated that he would fix all my computer problems for free or only a small fee.He had me go on TeamMaster and then he attempted to show me the viruses on my computer. He then stated that my computer had a virus and that my computer could crash at any moment. John then started pressuring me into buying their program. I told John that I did not have a credit card or a debit card and he practically called me a LIAR. John was very rude and demanding to me about the money situation. He kept changing the price of the service from 195.00 to I can pay him 100.00 today and the rest later. He would never give me a set price and he wanted me to tell him an amount that I could come up with today.THATS WHEN I KNEW THIS PERSON AND COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!! When I tried to call the company back ..no such number.. 1 hour passed and I got another call from the same company, another person, but just as rude and demanding. Please , please know that this is a scam.

I received a call from John Foster, Micro tech. said my Microsoft windows was sending in messages which show a major problem with my computer. the computer could crash if I did not follow his steps to delete the errors in the EVENT section of my computer. I followed steps and saw all these errors but when he said to use the start search and access: WWW.000000 I became suspicious. I went to Google and put in the phone number 1-855-847-3555 and found this is a scam.

--Ctually the calls I rec'd were from 720-708-1000, which when I called back rec'd a recording that only gave a series of numbers....not phone numbers.
The number they are using is 801-512-0605.  I did call back and rec'd a live person, which doesn't mean a thing.

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

I also received a call from 855-847-3555 from Microsoft windows help line. He had a foreign sounding voice to I ask him his name  He said my computer has some corruption and could crash.  I ask him how he knew.  He said his name was John Wilson and was in New York.  I was leaving so I ask for a number to call him back.  Was really glad I did that when I found out that this is really a scam.  They have the number...can't they do something to prevent this?
