maybe if there is no way to stop the calls, we can make them easier to deal with.

since the calls come on my iphone i have set up a contact list for "spam" and add all sales callers to that contact list.  then i set the call notification for "spam" calls to no sound and no vibrate.  so, i don't even notice that they called until i see the missed call notification.

i also use the free "you mail" voicemail app which answers all "spam" calls with a "this number has been disconnected" message.  eventually they will get the point.

mr number says this number is in my contacts, therefor it wasnt blocked as spam. It is not on my contact list.
I recently bought a domain from go daddy, against advice from friends. maybe this is why?

I have gotten 9 calls from this number and 9 calls from 1-855-881-6938 and 9 calls from 1-855-881-9252 at all hours of the day for the past three months, often calling multiple times a day and multiple times a week. Just because I put my phone number in a required field for domain registration does not mean that I wish to be harrassed.

I suggest that all of you go to your account and click the little domain lock and keep continuing through by just clicking the continue button.  This unlocks your domain so you can move it to a different registrar.

You still need to get the code from them, and thats the hard part.  Perhaps if enough of us did this, they would get the message, that we do not want to be harassed by all their telemarketing attempts!

I too recieve calls from them and emails, and have opted out, yet after 1.5 months, I am still getting calls.

This is Bull!   I have requested to transfer my domain now, and wait the email giving me the code.

They have no legal right to call numbers for telemarketer when they are on the no call list, im going to report them now.

Call came from Register.com. I had registered with them, they called to remind me about the package offer (which was a decent offer). I got the name of the agent for further reference and requested to be put on the do not call list ( takes 48 hours to take effect).

not pushy sales just FYI. I didn't ask but I imagine you can request to be put on the do not call list at the time of sign up.

Block them if you can because a toll free number charges the number called (it can go either way).

Yes, it's register.com, and I chatted with a live representative to get them to stop. Man, they are rude! They told me they'd put me on the do-not-contact list but then I won't get renewal notifications for my domain.  So, I'm transfering my domain names elsewhere. Buh-bye!

I actually did have dealings with these people but not directly. My credit card number was compromised and a domain site was set up under my name. I did call and speak to them about this as did my credit card company. I am not going to take their call, though, as I have no more business with them.

I recently purchased a domain from register and I'm getting calls everyday sometimes twice a day from this number. They don't leave messages and I haven't answered the phone. I wish I could make the calling stop. So if it isn't register.com then did their site get high jacked for our phone #s then?

I have been tracking this number calling (855-881-6939) since before March and have consistently been called once a day for over a month. Recently the number of calls coming in has doubled and happens daily. I've called Register.com to report the problem and have been told that it isn't them. This has got to stop!

I keep getting a call from Sandy Ross at register.com.  They call us and hang up daily.  When I called the number back some SVP of sales named Sandy Ross said to email him feedback at sandy@regoster.com.

I could not get a live person so i looked up the number on the site and called it,   a lady answered right away and said she could not put me on the do not call list but she said she could transfer me but there was a 15 minute wait!

this was and is ridiculous and is nothing more than harassment!

These people called me repeatedly over a couple of weeks. They robocall and leave no message. Using Google Voice, I sent their calls to my blocked message. Finally I called them: It's Register.com, and *man* do they not like to be asked never to call you.

This is probably for the Register.com domain names as I just bought a domain name in the past few weeks.  Thanks for sharing!

BTW - Jamerama, see below per the FCC website:

Toll-free numbers are numbers that begin with one of the following three-digit codes: 800, 888, 877, 866 or 855. Toll-free numbers allow callers to reach businesses and/or individuals without being charged for the call. The charge for using a toll-free number is paid by the called party (the toll-free subscriber) instead of the calling party. Toll-free numbers can be dialed directly to your business or personal telephone line.

Toll-free numbers are very common and have proven successful for businesses, particularly in the areas of customer service and telemarketing. Toll-free service provides potential customers and others with a ?free? and convenient way to contact businesses.

Today, there are five toll-free codes: 800, 888, 877, 866 and 855. Although 800, 888, 877, 866 and 855 are all toll-free codes, they are not interchangeable. 1-800-234-5678 is not the same number as 1-888-234-5678. Calls to each toll-free number are routed to a particular local telephone number.

i have blocked cell calls from this number since areacode.org says: Area code 855 is a future area code reserved for toll-free calls in which the calling party is not charged. Instead, the telephone carrier charges the cost of the call to the called party. Toll-free numbers, such as 855 numbers, have applications such as technical support, customer service, and personal use.

This number has now been blocked 8 times in 24 hours.

They said it was Register.com and wanted to know how I planned to use my domain name.
