work at comcast. just got a call from a customer who explained this to me. looked into it. its whats called a "green dot" scam. They change numbers randomly and call for all sorts of things. getting you to go to walmart or rite aid and buy a prepaid card to send them money with. a green dot prepaid card to send money overseas. in 4 years here we have never asked for services paid in advance. installs are not paid in advance. and representatives dont have call back extensions and last names are not given. lot of scams out there. be careful. comcast wont make you pay upfront beyond a deposit if need because of credit history or for xfinity home security equipment purchases. if youre in doubt. get a call back number from the person who call and call us at 800-266-2278 1 800 comcast

You have been scammed.
Scammers do not make refunds.
Next time, look at your Comcast bill, and call the REAL phone number as listed on the bill, to determine if an "offer" is real or not.

I've had the same call multiple times. Finally picked up and yelled at the guy and he's stopped calling. Sounds like an Indian guy with a bad connection trying to upgrade my comcast. Strange part is they know what package I have and my name and phone number. They dont' seem to have email addresses though. Wants me to pay 6 months up front with some sort of green dot prepaid card that I would have to buy from walmart.

I did not answer. The caller I'd stated call was from Cambodia.

This is a scam, obviously. This number has called me multiple times promoting a Comcast "offer" which was obsioudly too good to be true. (free Kindle fire plus 50% off my monthly bill for pre-paying a years worth of service immediately). Shockingly they couldn't send me this information on my comcast email because they did not have it.

Scam - prepay $300 and get cable upgrade. very professional Indians this is the number you call to give the number of the cash card. Now Comcast has no record of my transaction or the "service call" they set up for me. Again scary part is they knew what package I already had signed up for with Comcast.

Called on 3/29/14 on a Comcast Loyalty promotion offering a Kindle Fire, DVR and all the premium movie channals for $99.00 a month. The odd thing is you have to pay 3 or 6 months in advance ($300 OR $600), But they would also add 3 or 6 months free you in the first year. The only odd thing is you can only pay using a "Green Dot Money Card" with the scratch back. The last issue is our current bill is pending a payment from an unknown credit card ending in 1008 which could be the credit they were advising in the offer, but Comcast is mot aware of the promotion and the call back number does not always work.

Comcast offering promotional $99 rate that includes upgrade if first 3 mos. are paid up front. Said his name was Frank Carlox and he was calling from Texas. Sounded slightly Indian. Checked with Comcast and they are not offering this deal. Scary part was that he called my work number, told me one of my addresses where I have comcast, so he must have hacked into a Comcast data base.

Claims to be Comcast offering promotional deals. Sounds Indian with a really bad connection.
| Gallus 2014-03-25 03:39:31 Unknown |
Then it's not "free", is it?
