well i have a landline PHONE NUMBER but not a physical TELEPHONE...caller ID on TV screen.  I just check the screen and laugh at all of the calls.  I got the number in a bundle with Charter and it's SUPPOSED to be unlisted but I see THAT was a lie.  A landline is a joke and the joke's on THEM. 855-939-9909

I got a call from 855-939-9909 claiming to work for American Family Insurance but what doesn't make sence is that I just got this number a month ago and AFI doesn't have this number.

If this was just "American Family", and not "American Family 'Health Care' " (as was stated to me by an insurance company of mine that DID call this number and got an automated menu and the actual name), I would know their phone numbers. And it would not show as "Out of area", muchless be from an 855 area code. I have American Family Insurance for different insurance, not "family health care" insurance. Besides, if this really was my agent and/or his company, he would call me directly or mail me the request. He's local, as is the headquarters.

I never call any number that called me without my requesting it. Caller ID numbers and names are easily faked. Thus, you call them (or answer) and you've just confirmed a "live" number. I'm also getting junk mail again from Blue Cross, who seems to think we have them for health insurance. Great way to build up a contact & call list by contacting them all. I just give my micro-shredder a work out.

Rules I live by. Others may vary. No problem.

BTW, I do agree with 'American Family Customer' that, overall, they have developed some pretty wacky, irritating marketing practices. Furthermore, I seem to remember a lawsuit being brought against a company that advertised on TV with a name very close to Amercan Family Insurance. Umm, a few years ago or so? I had mentioned it to my local agent and that's when I found out they were bringing a lawsuit against that company for that very reason.

All you need to do is call that number back. It is indeed American Family and they are indeed calling to schedule an appointment with your local agent to review your coverage. It's in your best interest but pretty damn annoying. My wife actually works for our local agent and one would think they'd pick up on that...nope. I did tell them to never call again and that process does take 30 days

This number has called twice in less than 24 hours. Through research and help from an insurance company, this number is for American Family Health Care. I'll block it.
