Robo call to my cell phone for some financial advice for senior citizens (I didn't listen to the whole thing) and I'm on the Do Not Call list. Since I pay by the minute and I did not invite the call it feels like theft to me.

Since you are on the DoNotCall Registry, you can be sure that all telemarketing calls you receive are either abusive telemarketing or scamming calls. "this number is not in service" means the number is spoofed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing and your caller should be treated as hostile.

I answered because it "appeared" to be a local number, but it turns out this number is not in service. They mention something about "senior advisory center" before I hung up. Aggravating... I'm on a "do not call list", but it does little good. They always find away around it. I'm not even sure if I can block these anymore, I'll have to see if I still have that feature on this line.

it is robo caller , calling to determine if a human answers the phone. My nuber is on the do not call list. titally illegal, however caller does not care. the computer uses different area codes to determine which causes your to answer the phone. previous calls have come under area code 850, have also received calls under 858-154-7765. When I have called I get automated response "this number is no longer in service".
It is amasing this crap is allowed to persist. I will never buy or do business with any merchant that allows this.
caller id says name not found ???
There should be a designation of "Data collector" in the call typer, that is what these calls are. They get responses and then they sell the information to other parties.

Ditto! They just called and hung up without leaving a message. The number flashed on my TV with a note that the caller ID was unavailable.
