I'm located in Upstate NY.  Pulled the same scam through a Craigslist ad I had posted.  But I was on to him immediately.  I have been harassing the s*** out of him.  He threatened to call the FBI for my harassments.  I call him often from different #'s, to continue to give him the same grief he gives everyone else.  Everyone should do the same thing to "Clifford Ted."  I think its time to call him again!!!!   I'm tired of the scammers weeding their way into my life.  It's a shame nothing can be done about it legally.  

This moron is back at it again, nearly a year after these posts ... same lingo ('family emergency'), same scam.  My ad was in an online forum of our local newspaper, though, so obviously he's exhausted CraigsList and is moving on to a new arena.  I accused him of being a forgery crook, told him to get a new gig, that here in America, cash is king ... no one wants your crappy useless checks!

received a text this a am. from this number responding my craigslist post fro an item for sale. The person says they are out of town on an emergency can not pick up merchandise. Sending cashier check, please send your address. They will arrange for pick up after they receive payment. They don't know anything about the product. it has to be uninstalled from a well...lol I hope these people get caught!

I have received numerous calls from different #s and I really think this thing its crap, How do we stop this>? I am trying to sell something legally. Is there anything we can do?

I just got the same message today, 06/10/2013 at 1443hrs. Same exact scam lines. I told the guy to take a hike!

a Jeff A Drews from this telephone number is trying to run a scam. He is trying to pay more money than the asking price of an item, then he sends a check. after the victim cashes the check, Jeff A Drews sends a person over to pick up the item and the "spare money".

do not engage with this person, it is a scam, at this point being done on Craig's List and possibly through other venues. He is using Milestone Bank, in Doylestown, PA

Got the same message. Wish they could do something to these people. I dont fall for any of these. I just tell them "nice try" then i tell them im calling the fbi. They never text again

Posted a household item to Phoenix Craigslist about 2 days ago, cash-only.  Yesterday got a first text from this number, "Still up for sale?" and the title of the listing.  I replied "yes", received no response, so 10 minutes later, I sent a second text "Are you interested?"... again no response.  Today, I get a 3-part text: "I live in Sacramento Ca plus I have a mover who is going to come pick up for me I am willing to pay your asking price.I will pay you with Cashier Check as its the only way i can pay you at the moment due to the fact that i am away for a business emergency. I will make arrangement for the pick-up after payment have been received by you. I dont mind adding an extra $20 just for you to keep it in my".  That was it.  Definitely sounds fishy so I'm done responding with this person, but local PD can't do anything about it until/unless a crime is committed.  Craigslist warns, "FAKE CASHIER CHECKS & MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON, and BANKS WILL CASH THEM AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE when the fake is discovered weeks later."  Sellers beware...

If you see this stay away! This is a check scam. and by the way, there is no way that anyone with grammar this bad has an assistant.

I got a txt from this number relating to a craigslist item for sale. Wanted to know if my item is still for sale.

This number is still tryin to scam me on another one of my listings!!
