Received 3 phones calls the last 2 days and more over a month's time.  Finally talked to a person this morning, said he was with Iowa DR and was in the Hoover Bldg.  I asked him whose picture was on the wall and who were some of the state official.  Of course he did not know.  They said you owe Iowa money and want a front loaded debit card or transfer of funds.
They even have posted the 866 number as IDR number.  Complete scam mostly on immigrants but we don't fall into that category although we are older so probably phoning older people thinking they would be frightened if they did not sent the money.

Why would an Iowa Department have a Kentucky number or call at 9 at night and not say anything? Sounds like a scam to me. And they ask for any part of your ssn ... not right.

This number is not a scam, I just called them, it is a legit agency - just call them back, they are trying to collect money for an unpaid infraction (a speeding ticket, moving violation, etc) - they don't make you give them your entire social, just the last four digits - they ask you for a date on which you can pay your ticket and note that in their database. Give them a realistic date and pay your ticket and they will stop calling you. It is a lot easier to work with these people then it is to avoid them, especially since they aren't going to make you pay your ticket on the day that you call.

Received calls from this number three times in two weeks; voice mail when call is returned indicates the "Firefighters' Fundraising Line."

They called me and hung up when I said hello.  Tried to call back but got a machine which you can't leave a message to.

They call me everyday. If I don't recognize a phone number, I don't answer. They never leave a message, but all the calls are annoying.

This number has come up on my caller ID about 12 times.  No message is ever left on voicemail.  From the other pots I have seen, this looks like this is the Professional Fire Fighters telemarketing agency.  I worked for this organization about 11 years ago for about 2 weeks.  This is a scheme to buy tickets to a concert or some other event in the name of the Professional Fire Fighters and Fire Paramedics. These guys are very persistant and they DO NOT EVER remove your name from their lists.

I heard that these guys are no calling to find out if someone is home and will break into your home.

Received a call about 8 p.m.  Did not respond when phone was answered.

Called at 8:12pm. Said "hey" when phone was answered, then hung up. Has been on caller id several times lately, never any msg.

I received a call from this number about three times in the last week, and they hang up right after I say hello.

Called a little after 5 pm and hung up.

THIS COULD BE A SET-UP BY CROOKS WHO HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH A GENUINE
FIREFIGHTER ORGANIZATION  NEVER, NEVER DONATE TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE.
THEY WILL HAVE YOU AND YOUR INFORMATION FROM NOW OWN AND THAT MAKES YOU
VULNERABLE TO CRIMINALS.

They called, I did not answer this time, I have in the past and it was something with the Firefighters.  I told them I know several Firemen in my county and will check it out with them.  Then hung up, as I was hanging up - they tried to get me not to.

called at 8:36 pm and said something I could not understand after "this is...." then hung up.

Called a little after 5 and hung up. They did not say anything...the phone rung twice and when I answered, they hung up.

Called me again,7:45pm know one was home.

called again...said hello then hung up.8:30pm

He said he was from the Union,KY fire department so I hung up

Answered on second ring, call immediately disconnected.

Called 8:37 PM and did not respond when I answered the phone.

When I answered the phone and said "Hello", there was no response. I hung up.
