A search shows that this number belongs to Grayling Associates in Connecticut -- a recruiting firm. The caller left a voicemail message that was very deceptive saying, "Hi. My name is 'Joe Blow' and I was referred to you on a personal matter. Please call me as soon as possible." He then provided an 800 number for my return call.
I work in the financial industry and receive recruiting calls and emails on a regular basis. Trickery is NOT a smart thing for a recruiter to do to try to get my attention.
First, I NEVER answer calls from an incoming number I do not recognize. And, secondly, I ALWAYS check incoming numbers that I do not know before even considering a call back. I really despise these jerks who try to trick you into a call back -- extremely deceptive practices.
