Medicare Scam alright! Called and asked for checking account number to update their information! Beware!!

He spoke with broken English, sounded Asian.  Said he was calling from Medicare.  His responses were delayed so obviosly from a distance.  Wanted to speak to my father-in-law who had passed away four years ago.

Called saying from Medicare and asking for checking account number to get new Medicare card.  Got borthdate out of me because it was my birthday.
Froeign sounding.
How do we protect ourselves. We protested adn he hung up.

Called Saturday morning on 11/21/09 and said. We are sending you a new social security card.

man called my mother who is a senior citizen.  Said he was from the Social Security Administration and wanted her bank routing number and account numbers to verify her ID so she could get a new card.  spoke with heavy accent.  He became arguementative when she began to ask why he wanted that information.  she gave him nothing thank heaven.  Beware of this one.

Medicare scam! Asked my mother to write down her social security # and bank account #, then mail it to them so they could send her a new Social Security card.

I just got my 80 year old mother a jitterbug phone and within 48 hours of activating it I got a call from this number. The accent was foreign and they rattled on about something about health care. I told them I had just activated the phone and NO ONE should have that number and that I would be reporting them. The guy then mentioned a foreign-sounding female name and I told them to go to Hell. I tried to block the number on the jitterbug but can't figure out how.

Called every half hr. Started at 5;45 AM never left a massage, Please stop calling me.

called 5 times between 11:30 p.m.-1:40 a.m.  Automated message every time; just said "Thank you, please hold; we are connecting your call" over and over.  husband answered it the first time, heard this message, then a disconnect.  After that, the other 4 calls came; each one left on the answering machine.

called my number  while I was abscent.  Left no massage.
I called back.  Said itmwas medicare something related . Advised to call attorney general.

Just got a call from this number and THANK GOD for this website.  My Mom just passed not to long ago...dang..what evil out there scamming people!
