they called me from a number pretending to be a process server then they transfer me to a fake atourney who is sitting right next to them. they split the settle ment 50/50 or payment plans. they use all your information form a credit reports they have access too. they are kings at scare tactics. do not pay them or believe there lies. THEY WILL NEVER TAKE YOU TO COURT OR GARNISH YOUR WAGES EVVVERRRRRRRRRRRRR  so dont worry about it there heartless. i use to be one of them.

Just got a call from a "private number" saying that a complaint has been filed and I was going to be served with papers.  They left this number, but no information on who this supposed attorney is.  Hmmm....I'm thinking this is a scare tactic an illegal.  Going to file a complaint with the FTC.

Just got a call and they left this number as their return number on the message. It was for my hubby. They claimed they had tried to deliver "legal papers" to our house this morning. I know this is not true because I have been here all morning. The number came up as private. I have not tried to call it back. I believe this is a scam.

A Michelle called from this number and said she was from the ABA Group (located somewhere in Orange County Ca.) and that I need to contact their legal team within 24 hours or they will file papers for me. She said they have made numerous calls to me - this is the fist call I received. Total scare tatic and illegal.

Received a call on 2/4/2010 (as did my 75 yr old mother). Said his name was Michael Miller & he was contracted out to deliver me a summons to appear in court. Said he'd made 2 attempts to deliver legal docs to me & that if I or my attorney did not return the call within 24 hours I would be taken to court. My silence would be taken as a right to refusal.

Know this is a scam

I settled my debt with them before I had to go to court. It has come off my credit report and shows paid in full. I racked up a credit card when I was in school, I have since graduated, and trying to repair my credit. THANK YOU ABA U guys are they BEST... JH

I repeatedly get calls from this person/s.  The message is usually about legal papers and court dates, the latest call contained an address- my ex's address that shows up on some of my credit checks.  Very annoying.  My caller id shows "private caller", but this number is the one I am supposed to call back.

MY MOM GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER SAYING I WOULD BE SERVED PAPERS IF I DIDNT CONTACT THEM WITH IN 24 HOURS. I HAVENT LIVED WITH MY MOM IN YEARS, SO I CALLED AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD TAKE ME TO COURT..BUT WHEN I ASKED WHAT LEGAL FIRM OR COLLECTION AGENCY THIS WAS. HE WOULD NEVER TELL ME.. SO I HUNG UP..

it was bridgeport financial - flaky debt collectors for someone I did business with years ago.
