Longwood is a scam company that preys on people who are trying to sell a vehicle. This is WELL documented all over the internet. Matt Carter from Longwood calls and wants your credit card information to sell our vehicle. They especially like Craigslist ads. Stay far away from these people.

Don't worry - they won't.
Leo 2012-06-08 18:02:17 Unknown
You are lying... again! Your rating with BBB is D-. Shove it!
Leo 2012-06-08 18:00:19 Unknown
You are a fraud, and - as such - need to be shut down. We place our ads on Craigslist to sell our cars, not to attract attention of every single crook - including but not limited to you - in the world.

Drop dead scammer!
Leo 2012-06-08 16:25:59 Unknown
Do you work for these scammers?

just got a call from matt from longwood, i see its a scam
vostok 2011-11-01 23:42:44 Telemarketer
Received a call referencing this 866 number and a voice message that says: "...this is [garbled] from Longwood..."
It appears that its likely a scam if:
i) they use "unknown" as their caller ID payload,
OR
ii) they post repeated explanations on websites to explain/mask their intentions.

I received a voice message from Matt Carter. I would like to clarify I am NOT selling a car. We posted on a local internet classified an ad to sell 2 tires. I am in Canada and it sounds like he is on the other side of the continent and in the USA. No business from here.

Matt Carter is still at it - my car's listed on Craig's List and he got my cell phone # from there. Why would I pay him a fee to sell my car when I can list it for free?
866-326-9921 - comes up as Unavailable on my cell and I have to call him before 5pm that same day.
Nutation 2011-08-11 15:58:35 Telemarketer
Received a call with an Unavailable caller ID. I didn't answer. They left a voice mail. Gave his name as Matt Carter and asked me to call him back at this number. Offered to list my car on over 70 websites and guaranteed a buyer.
To quote my voice mail system "Message deleted."

Matt Carter called me also in San Antonio, TX. I'm sure that they monitor Craig's List and places like that looking for people like us who are selling autos. Which is where they collect our names and phone numbers. I assume that you all put your first name and phone number...correct? As you all mentioned, they say they guarantee the auto will be sold. When I saw what was said about them providing jobs for disabled people, I almost called them to hear their line. Then I went to the BBB site. Typed in 'Longwood Industries'...nothing...opened the tab for phone number, put the 866 number in....still nothing. Then I put in their Web address....Bingo! That when I decided AGAINST dealing with them. Their rating is a 'C' with the BBB. Log on to BBB and you'll see things like '299 complaints' and the decision maker....the big one...get ready because here it comes...directly cut and pasted from the BBB itself!..."Auto Marketing Systems is NOT Accredited by the Better Business Bureau. The firm is not eligible for Accreditation with the BBB due to their volume of complaints.
The BBB continues to receive calls from consumers stating that the firm told them they were members of the BBB. The firm is actually stating that they are members of the Online Business Bureau which is in NO WAY affiliated with the Better Business Bureau system". The capitalization is from the Better Business Bureau. As Sgt. Fury would say " 'NUFF SAID".

Matt Carter called and left a message to sell my car. I am not selling car.
Jochen Peiper 2011-06-06 21:01:32 Unknown
It's truly interesting that they've callled you numerous times when you never had a car listed for sale at all. Scam supreme! Perhaps they should get jobs picking up papers on the side of the highways - something constructive with a sense of accomplishment!

Matt Carter called and left a message on my answering machine twice already this week. Says has somebody interested in a car like mine. guaranteed sale with them, for a small fee, and to call him before 5 today

Matt Carter from Longwood Industries contacted me today with a voice message spiel similar to what is stated above. He starts with "Oh, I am so glad I got a hold of you", as if I was the long long heir of a massive fortune or something. Bugger off.

Got the same call and message from Matt Carter April 8, 2011. "Glad I got a hold of you" "Small fee" "Call me back before 5 p.m. today". Caller ID showed One Stop Motors, not Longwood, but same guy. He used a phone number 702-227-3934, but asked that I call him back at 866-326-9921.
Joe 2011-06-06 21:01:32 Unknown
You need to knock off your freaking robo calls. It's annoying as Hell. Don't understand why you think it's a good way to do business.
Iggy 2011-06-06 21:01:32 Unknown
Received the same voice mail message from Matt Carter of Longwood Inc. and I don't even have a car for sale. SCAM. What I do is save their number on my cell phone as "SCAM" so that if they call again, I can easily see them for what they really are... Sh*t.

Got a call today from Matt Carter with Longwood. Tel ID reflected "Unknown caller". He wants me to call him to further explain how he can sell my car. There is a fee involved he said. I hate "Unknown Caller". This appears to be a scam. Never answer an unknown caller.
Answer 2011-06-06 21:01:32 Unknown
Longwood Industries, Inc. / Auto Marketing Systems (registered DBA). Longwood is a government-accredited 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has been serving as a sheltered workshop in Bedford, VA since 1975. The company was established for the purpose of providing employment opportunities to mentally and physically disadvantaged individuals. Its many branches of service include sign making, embroidery, screen printing, tote bag creation, bulk mail collating, and auto marketing.
Question 2011-06-06 21:01:32 Unknown
Why is does my Caller ID register their phone number as unknown?
Answer 2011-06-06 21:01:32 Unknown
For non-profit organizations, name and/or number identification on Caller ID is optional. Longwood uses multiple lines to dial out, as well as to directly reach multiple departments of their business. There are quite a few numbers used for the auto marketing facet of the organization alone. To avoid outbound confusion and excessive inbound call transferring, Longwood has opted out of providing such information for Caller ID.
