I just got a call from this number saying they're with DirecTV and were offering me free Sunday Ticket, but if I call DirecTV back about this, I wouldn't be able to get this offer. He hung up real quick when I told him I work for DirecTV and I asked him for his login ID.

We have no such promotion going on, we do not call you to add services. I know there are many reasons not to be satisfied with our service, working tech support for some time I know this, I can't say it on the recorded line but I would drop DirecTV as well in those aggravating circumstances. Bill goes up with no warning? Yeah, I'd be pissed off too. Searching for Satellite error when it even thinks about raining? F*** that.

So while there are many reasons not to like us, this number is not one of them. They are not DirecTV, they are trying to scam you.

yea this number just called me a bit ago, I didn't answer and no message was left. I have told DirecTv previously that I do not want any more of their services than I am already getting, because quite frankly I cant afford it. They keep pushing and pushing, to a point that I want to remove the service altogether but I can't because I still have a year left on their stupid 2 year contract. The first year I wasn't paying much over $60 a month and now its just over $90 with NO addition to the service! They rip you off no matter what you do and then they have the audacity to call and want you to add more? they can go Sc**w themselves.

Yep.....as soon as my contract is up, GOODBYE DirecTV.     Even tho the local cable company seems to piss me off with their services, Directv is worse.....

Worst outfit I ever dealt with. They add programs on without notifiing me and I am on the phone monthly disputing my bill, which for the past one and a half years has never been the same. Will be leaving them soon.

I get multiple calls from this number every day. I never answer, and the caller never leaves a message. Enough already!!

I just got this call again today. Ironically, literally 2 hours ago, I cancelled my service with DirecTV. They offered me a $20/month discount to stay and I told them I'm tired of paying to watch TV. I have purchased a Mohu Leaf Plus antenna and I get plenty of over-the-air broadcast channels FOR FREE! Okay, I don't get all the channels that I was getting with Direct (or Dish), but there was hardly ever anything to watch on those anyway! And I won't have to play their games anymore of "losing a channel"! I feel so free....!!!!

Was DirectTV basically asking me to sign a new 12 month contract, and they would add a bunch of extra channels for only $5.99 extra because I've been such a loyal customer.  I repeatedly told him no and finally told him to just cancel my direct tv altogether, at which point he hung up on me.

Thanks Lisa for the info. I had no idea it was Directv. I don't answer their calls either and no voice mail is left. It's the most annoying call i ever get, aagghhhh!!

This number has called me repeatedly.  It's some young girl trying to get you to add things to your account.  I say I'm not interested, and she starts questioning my dedication to TV.  It's ridiculous.  I emailed Directv to tell them to stop calling me.  It's just silly that a company that I pay my bills on time with would do this.  They can email they're crappy pitches, and I will delete them like all other junk, but harassing a customer on the phone - that's seriously crossing a line.

How rude!  Seriously, even if my bill is 5 days late (always paid!), what good is calling on a Sunday going to do when all the banks are closed?  Rediculous!

If you 3 days late with Directv THEY CALL!  Turn the damn TV off then and p****off!!!  I don't care!

Didn't answer.  Didn't go to voice mail because I block all 866 numbers.  That's all I know.
