Same thing here...keep calling and when I finally hang up, no one's talking!  They still didn't understand...

J'ai reçu jusqu'à maintenant 6 appels d'eux durant le mois de septembre 2008 (et le mois n'est pas fini):
10 septembre 2008, 23, 2 fois le 24, 25 et 29 septembre 2008.
Jamais je ne répond à leur appel.
Je constate qu'ils changent de période de la journée afin d'augmenter leurs «chances». Je me demande bien s'il vont se «tanner» un jour?

I have started receiving numerous calls from this number (I have call display so don't answer.) Will definitely sign up for the do not call list on September 30! Interesting facts from the official do not call website:

Telemarketers must not use Automatic Dialing and Announcing Device (devices that dial telephone numbers automatically and deliver a pre-recorded message).

Only call or send faxes between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. on weekdays and between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekends

After you sign up, your numbers will be added to the List within 24 hours. Telemarketers then have 31 days to update their own information and make sure they don’t call you in their next round of solicitation. Don’t expect all calls to stop immediately, though. You could still receive calls within those first 31 days.

New legislation gives the Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) the power to assign penalties of up to $1,500 per infraction for individuals and $15,000 for corporations that do not follow the National DNCL rules.

this number had called me several times, i answered once theres nobody on the other line so i didnt answer again when it called back our phone is new. we had it 3 weeks ago and since that time they had been calling us and it is very annoying. it disrupts my work at home. i hope they will stop.

Maybe not a good idea to call the number.

Here's what I have found on another website about anonymous calls. Some people left their phone numbers to have it removed but the phone calls continued....

It could be a trap line:

Two days in a row that I see this number on my phone.  Nobody left a message.

Nous recevons ce type d'appel à presque tout les jours depuis quelques semaines, c'est un homme et parfois une femme qui offre une carte de crédit MBNA pré-approuvée.  Que faire pour que ça arrête?  Qu'avez-vous fait pour arrêter ces fatiguants qui n'ont rien d'autres à faire que de nous faire perdre du temps.

I didn't answer because I was busy working out on the treadmill. I heard the answering machine go off, someone in french saying "Oui, allo?"
I'm guessing it's a scam of some sort. We're constantly getting annoying phonecalls. I can't stand it anymore!!!! STOP CALLING MY HOUSE.

Just called here.  Didn't recognzie the number, so I let it go to voicemail.  Surprise, Surprise, didn't leave a message.

I love to read telemarketers like this passages from the Bible! It's great, they try and sell you on a credit card and I try and sell them on the Gift of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord! I figure if they wanna keep calling I could at least save some of their lost souls! I suggest reading them 3 passages:

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

We are all sinners, you... me... all of us are not worthy Gods grace! But why should you care? Well...

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

You and I are gonna die, its a fact of life! As a sinner your debt will be paid through death, most likely in eternal Hell fire! But, there's Good News! God wants to give you a gift! The gift of eternal life through his son, Jesus Christ, who he sent to this earth to live a sinless life and show us the way and to die on a cross as a sacrifice, so that your sins would be redeemed and you could spend eternity along side your creator and heavenly father in heaven!

Wow! That's amazing isn't it? But how do you receive this gift you may ask? It's soo simple!

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

That's it! All you have to do is cry out to Jesus Christ and accept him as your Lord and personal savour! The word repent means to actually TURN FROM YOUR SIN so leave it in the past and STOP SINNING! Old things have passed away, All things have become new through the Lords grace!

If you get your telemarketer (or anyone for that matter) to understand and accept this, ask them to read the following tract with you in all sincerity:

I get a call from this number every week or so. No messages are ever left. No one speaks when I answer. I'm getting really tired of it.

Said from MBNA; Have phoned over 12 times.  I just don't answer at all.

We've had quite a few calls from that number. I actually typed it into google, because they just phoned me a minute ago. Any time we've answered there's no one there, but I know I heard a beep.

I recieve this telephone 1.866.428.1656 on my call display! I won't answer it just because, well , because I don't know anyone who would be calling me from there and well, I treat it as a "tel-a- marketer".

J'ai recu un appel il y a quelques minutes et on me demandait des informations sur ma compagnie de téléphone et sur le prix que cela me coute par mois. Je crois que c'est une agence de télémarketing pour un forfait pour les longues distances. Il parlait anglais alors je n'ai as bien compris.
Quelqun sait s'il y a un moyen de bloquer le numéro sans frais?

Everyday without fail they call. Never do they leave a message on the answering machine. Quite annoying.

calling constantly..so annoying

Kept getting calls and hang ups.  This time someone started talking, asked me by my name (unlisted number).  MBNA bank - I interupted and asked how they got my name and number - she said automatic dialer.  I told her I worked for a telephone company - and an automatic dialer is supposed to dial calls at random NO NAMES ARE GIVEN!  I told her to take me off the list, and asked her again how they got my name.  She said thats what she was told - and if I wanted to find out - phone 1-888-876-6262 - which I will call tomorrow - at the risk of being put on another stupid list.

They have been calling me for months, 2-3 times a day. I never answer and they never leave a message on my machine.

Very annoying persistent calls trying to sign me up for a credit card. I've been receiving calls from this place for years.
I have actually gotten in arguments with them. I politely told the woman "No thank you, I don't want a credit card", she then began telling me all the benefits of this card, the interest rate ect... So I told her "It's probably a bad idea for me to have a credit card. I'd likely shop myself into major debt". Her response was "You can use it just for emergency's, also when renting hotels or cars a credit card is required". Then she said "I just need to confirm your information", and she gave my name and address then asked "Is this correct?"
At this point I was fed up, I told her I didn't mean to be rude but this was the sixth time they called me and I don't want a credit card. She had the nerve to once again tell me how many "great" benefits this card had, so I said "Look I wouldn't be able pay the bill, I have no income, so unless your willing to pay my bill each month than it's still no. She actually said "Well how do you pay your other bills then" in a bitchy tone, and I told her "I don't have any, I live with my parents!" in an equally bitchy tone.

Received twice à call in the afternoon on 2008-06-06.
Nobody at the end of the line. It hangs-up after a moment.

866-428-1656 there is an answering machine but it is very difficult to understand what it says.

Effectivement c'est bien MBNA qui appel et qui ne laisse aucun message et surtout... appel a 20h et le plus drôle j'ai 2 numéro de téléphone mon premier sonne 10 sec après le 2e sonne hahaha!!!

they're really annoying. They call 3 times a day and whenever i pick up noone talks and never leaves a message. Im tired of this shiiit

I get this number calling me at least 4-5 times a day and no one is there its quite annoying.

I received a call today from this number 1-866-428-1656
When I call back it's a machine that says secure something... but it was not like a known company... if it was a credit card, or MNBA it will say it, but nothing... all it was saying is to leave name and phone number and our number will be removed... It felt sketchy because I received the call, a woman on the other line has bad connection and kept asking for my name... then she say ok, and say bye?!  LIKE WTF, I asked who's calling and they hung up on me!

Yes this call is from MBNA, either you have a credit card with them or a bank account they will call you. seems that their dialer is bugged because they called a few times and no one was on the other line. I still don't trust this number they could be a third party call center that is giving out promotional offers from MBNA. If you give them information they will update their database and could possibly sell that information to other companies.

Call several times a day, never leave messages and call after 9:00 pm at night.  Isn't there a law against that?

We don't answer "unknown callers" or "out of area" as it's usually someone soliciting.
