This calling has gone on for about two weeks now. I have not answered as yet and have not returned calls. I have little debt and NONE of it is in a collection status that I know of. Seems to me that one would receive "collection letters" if this were legit.
I belive this is a "scam in the making" and wish someone would stop it.

This person called me x 2 today, but didn't leave a message either time. I called back and inquired who they were/ what they did and they told me.

Have more information on this debt collector. Received written communication from them offering a settlement on a charged off account that is still accruing interest. Return address on letter is:

Carol Stream, IL 60197-6124
Notes that they process checks electronically, debited from your account the date of receipt, check will not be returned. How safe can that be? Wouldn't trust them.
Report harassment to FTC or file suit under FDCPA (if you can find an attorney to help).

I HAVE GOTTRN ANNOYING CALLS FOR OVER 3 years about both the person who had my landline and another person who had my cell phone number. i usually screen and don't pick up, but if i do pick up by accident i give them a nyc ATTITUDE and tell them to leave me alone... so they prob think im the one...

I returned the call, it is Allied Interstate, a debt collection agency. They have not left a message.
