I got a text message saying "my account is restricted" and to call 1-866-475-5255 to remove the ....(ends there)

Obvious scammers....  I will not even call, no point.

ALSO, FYI, caller ID block does not work on many toll-free numbers.  Toll free subscribers can get your number via ANI, a completely separate process that predates called-id.

i was so confused. i got this same message this morning.
i did go ahead and call the number and got a woman's voicemail.
the first time i called i got someone's voicemail, now when i call
it's a credit card that's been blocked and i'm supposed to enter my card number.
yeah, i'm not that stupid.

I received the same text a few hours ago.  Decided to call back, but not give any information if they asked for any.  Only got a recording saying all of their operators were busy and to try again later.

Received text message this morning from this number saying I had a restricted account.  Returned call and got a woman's voicemail.  Hung up.  Did not leave any information on the voicemail.  Looked up cuna.mobi and found it was a website with no information.

I am a journalist with the Columbia (MO) Missourian. This is 866 number is a phishing expidition and needs to be ignored.  It is US wide and crossing carriers. Report the text or call to your carrier for further investigation.
