Get calls often from 1-866-498-7690. Says unknown on caller id. When I called it back after blocking my number it said: direct tel inc. national operations. They said it was the customer service number calling for a charitable donations for one of the non profit organizations.

I get calls all the time from this number (866-498-7690) and it is annoying and I now consider it harassment.  Something needs to be done.  I am also filing a complaint with the FCC.

Just called.  Long pause and then said they were calling for VFW.   Same number has called muliple times this week with no response when I answer phone

This number called my house phone and when i answered i said hello and a man said hello followed by scram.  And i waited several seconds and the man said nothing else.  I found this very unsettling to say the least.

(886)498-7690 calls me regularly and hangs up every time I answer the phone. When I call back, I receive a recording stating they are exempt from the government do not call registry, because they are collecting donations. However, they are NOT exempt, if they NEVER speak to you. It is then called Harassment. And yes, you can then report the #. Everyone, please do so, by calling the Government Do Not Call Registry, and wait for the needed prompts. Thank you.

They claimed to be from the VFW, Veterans of Foreign Wars today.

I am on the DNC.

I typically don't answer these calls but picked up phone by mistake. Canned speech for VFW, foster home somewhere, blah blah blah. Told him no, he pushed, I responded"with the increased cost of our health insurance premiums, I am unable to give any additional donations because we are donating to those less fortunate each time we pay our ridiculous health insurance premiums."  He hung up on me!

CID said Toll Free Caller. They've called before but I never answer any call that I don't know who is on the other end. And no answering machine hooked up so they know they have a valid number. I just let it ring. My house, my phone and I decide who I want to talk to and that's never a number that's unknown to me.

Get calls from this number very often.  I just let it ring.

They called this morning snd spoke to my wife.  Guy said he represented the VFW.  Whsn my wife wouldn't pledge he became testy

Call them back and fill up Debras voice mail ???, and what would the point be. STUPID.

These Bozos have called several times I block their # and they just use another #. They are wise to peoples blocking feature so they just call from a different #. Well they can kiss my sisters black cats a$$. I will never answer their calls. I just can't figure it out. All the technology that these villainous scammers have to harass people and the average citizen has none. I don't want to have to go to the trouble wasting my time blocking #s all the time.

They call, the Caller Id is "TOLL-FREE-" and they never lave a message.

I use my computer fax program to send them a fax to their phone number.  My fax will call every three minutes for up to eight hours until their fax answers - which it can't on that number.  ;-)

Works most of the time.  I went from 20 telemarketer calls a week to maybe three.

Continue getting calls from this number.  Never answers.

I picked up after 3 rings, and the caller hung up.

Just got a call from deep voiced Ed who wants to send me a pledge card for their program, Kids don't go with Strangers...saying they go into schools and give kids I.D. cards.  Annoying.

i get a call from these scam artist wanting money and my bank account number.don't give any thing to these people!!!!!!!!!!!

This number continues to pester me - on a daily basis. I am on the do not call list, and would like these calls to stop. They call on weekends, too.

Okay babies....I'm gonna tell you how to fix this.  They just called me too and dis is what dey heard.

Go to youtube.  Type in "Disconnnected Telephone Message."  Once you've heard it all the way through, turn on your answering machine to record, then play the youtube video one more time and record it on to your answering machine.

Then call yourself from your cell phone to leave yourself a message.

Once they hear it on their end, you'd be surprised how quickly they remove your phone number from their records.  

HA!  Be sure to tell your friends an' family about it, otherwise, they'll think you've died or something (first hand experience on that one).

Works every time.

I just subscribed to Ooma Telo - MAINLY - to put and end to this nap disturbing, nonstop charity calling (and to get rid of the overpriced landline). The "blacklist" feature is unlimited, unlike my Panasonic phone, which only allows up to 20 blocks. And the price cannot be beat!

And no, I don't work for Ooma...

Said they were from the "Georgia Animal Rescue" and wanted to know if we wanted to donate.  Never heard of them before and told them not to call again.  They said since they were a "charity" they were exempt from the DNC list.  Told them not to call again all the same.

I got a couple calls today, I picked up the 1st and nobody was there. I let the answering machine pick up the 2nd. No msg left. Looked up the phone number and see that many complain about it. Added the number into the phonebook, within my phone, calling it "junk009" (started at junk001) and set the ringer to "no ring". Next I, have an old laptop that has a voice modem connected to it. I use an app called "PhoneTry Free". I add the number to the privacy manager within the software and configure to pick up on the first ring. (that way my answering machine does not kick in). When the app picks up it plays the 3 tone SIT code, then says... "the number you have reached is no longer in service.... " and repeats it twice, then hangs up. The caller ID, date and time of the call are logged. Does NOT give them an option to leave a message. Soooo, back to peace and quiet - until the next idiot tries to call. When that happens, I repeat above steps. Works great for me.
