Same thing here. I have not answered so i did not know it was NAPW. But i just got an invitation and the membership app does say at no cost to you. I have yet to eb asked for the fee. Glad everyone spoke up here. And they don't leave a message when they call.

This is some good info! Thanks ladies! I received an invite in the mail, and as I have just started my own business, I was rather touched by the recognition, and thought it would be a great way to learn and grow. I have no idea how I was invited, nor by whom! I checked out the website and signed on, thinking it would be great to have input from other successful business women. However, I am now being bombarded with phone calls from a restricted number and the 8665406279 number. they don't leave a message, and when I called back, they tried to coerce me into paying for the membership! I agree with others who feel it is false advertising, as NONE of the correspondence I have received mentioned a membership fee, nor did the online activation process allude to any form of payment. Harassing me for money sort of goes against what this 'group' claim to provide! I'm thoroughly disappointed! It's not like it's hard enough for women in the business world without an organization of women preying on their own kind!

I filled out the information on line on Friday.  Since then, they are calling my cell phone, calling my office number, back to back to back.  I JUST rejected 2 cell phone calls and they immediately called on my office phone.  So far they have called me 6 times today.  The advertisement said nothing about having to pay a fee so I am glad I looked up this number and read these posts.  I do not want to spend that kind of money to come organization that is clearly thirsty for members to pay those fees.

Thanks for the information ladies!  I signed up for this through Linkedin also.  This is the first call I have gotten on my cell phone, so I looked it up and found this.  I guess I will cancel my "membership"!

I have been contacted by this company so many times it is ridiculous. They call my cell phone multiple times in a row and then dare to call my work phone. I have called and demanded to be taken of their list numerous times over the last couple of months with no luck. I did not sign up for their service, have no interest in their service and definitely have not provided them permission to call my work or cell phone. They have been reported to the FCC. 866.540.6279.

Thanks for getting this out there. After filling out their form online, I've been getting the same calls - no caller ID except phone number. After reading your comments, I blocked the number from my phone.

I also signed up thru Linked In.  They have tried calling me several times at work while away from my desk.  Found these posts while looking up the number.  Do you know how to remove yourself from their fake sign up?

The same thing happened to me, and as of today they have called me more than 12+ times. I dump the call everything.

Yes, thank you.  Went through all of the above.  Signed up on LinkedIn.  Kept getting strange calls on my cell phone with no voicemail.  Then reached me today on my business line.  Went through a fake interview.  Then was approved on the spot.  Sounded great with all the name dropping.... Star Jones, Martha Stewart, etc.  Then wanted to know which membership I wanted, Premier $700 or Elite $900 and what card I'd be using.  Completely appalled, so smells like a scam. Who gives out their credit card information to some random caller from an unknown 800 number?  And why not give you upgrade options in your "welcome packet" rather than on the spot pay now?  Guess we need to be more careful even on LinkedIn.  Beware: 516-453-6962 and 866-540-6279.

Keeps calling repeatedly and never leaves a message.  I am assuming it it NAPW trying to sell me my 'free' membership?  I was suspicious when they had to reach me to discuss my membership.   Free memberships are free.  What is there too discuss??

Thanks you ladies for this information. They called my job and then my cell phone. You all are absolutely right! There was nothing about a fee. So, gald I read your post....guess I will be dropping this also. Information is very much apprecaited!

I'm so glad you posted about this. I, too, signed up through LinkedIn. Did it yesterday and received a call from a restricted number and later from the 866.540.6279 number. I don't answer calls from people who don't identify themselves, for one thing. Will drop the idea now. So glad you ladies spoke up.

I too thought I was joining for free and found them thru Linkdin.  I have not been "hit up" for the money yet.  They did call my work phone for an interview??  Sounds like I'll drop this right away

Thanks for the infomration.  I signed up for this through linkedin and im glad you said something about the fee.  They are crazy if they think the are getting any money out of me.

I received the email first that I was nominated to become a member and to submit the application. I checked out the website and everything then submitted my application. It did not state ANYTHING about having to pay for membership. I then received a call from Donna Hart. 866-540-6279 ex: 103. She went on and on about the perks of being a member, especially a elite member. Everything sounded good until she stated how would I like to pay for the membership as its $489. I was appauled by this as its FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. IT should have been stated from the beginning that to become a member one has to PAY. However, if someone nominated you and then they state that you qualify and welcome...why pay. She stated that I will be a temp member until I make payment. I believe this is a scam. Thank the Lord that I had no funds in my account. However, to safeguard myself, I went ahead and closed/reported card lost/stolen. Therefore, in the near future if they attempt any underhand actions, they can NOT charge my account. Lesson learned.
