I got a call today, and they left this on my voicemail: "Hi, __ this is Alex Smith and I'm calling from A-1 Delivery, and I have a package for you, but my driver tells me that we have an incorrect address. So if you could call me back with the correct address, we can get that package out to you."

Is this a scam? Is it a bill collector in disguise? There is no A1 Delivery in my state. And I'm not expecting anything to be delivered. How would they get my phone number?

Did you find out who it was?  I got the exact same call today.

I got a call the other day from Alex Smith, A1 Deliveries stating the exact same thing. (Delivery driver had incorrect/undeliverable address for a package for me.) I took down the number, called them back and the answering machine did say A1 deliveries but there was nobody available just an answering machine.

Oh, and they say in the message "Go ahead and leave your full address, you can leave a message up to three minuites long..."
This really doesnt add up, and how much do they know about me?

Alex called back, saying the package was sent from Boulder, CO and HE was also calling from Boulder, CO
I live in MN and have absolutley no business from Colorado.
He said it was from "sports world" and valued at over $100, how he would know that is anyone's guess.

I told him it was the wrong number.
