This collection agency called me at 7:37am, which is too early.  I tried to explain this to the gentleman that called, but all he was interested in was my name.  He told me he was collecting for Vonage, which I had cancelled over a year ago with a zero balance.  I continued to tell him it was too early for a call and asked for a supervisor.  He said he wouldn't transfer me, said he'll call all day everyday until I pay and hung up on me.  I called back, explained the time issue and the woman asked when they should call.  I gave them a day and time.  An hour later, I get another call from them, but nobody live.

Interesting now they are calling my wifes cellular phone which is a deficient no no and they still don't leave messages. Have to wonder their number comes up but the the corporate name. When I answered the phone they simply hung up. I have a feeling that they are attempting to prey on women.

Just an update, I found out where they are located, sent about 50 faxes, more recordings of howard stern to their client voicemails and finally have been free of their harassment. In the meantime, I sent a registered letter disputing the debt (from Golds gym) and am waiting for their response in writing since I am sure they wont call again.

These guys have been calling me for Golds Gym, so I have gotten even, I listen to Howard stern on the radio, and call them back on my Cell phone and blast the profane parts of the show to their voicemails, or to the live operators.  After  about 15 of these calls during my commute hours they seem to have stopped.

I have a pre-paid cell phone that I have given out to 3 family members, have my number hidden and have used about 10 times in the last 6 months.

Got another strange call today, so I decided to call them back on a different phone.
I've gotten these calls from PURE FITNESS (am in AZ, btw):

None of these calls left messages, all were unknown, only one showed up in a Google search as Pure Fitness (a gym, I guess).

The same bubbly girl answered each time, and said she would be happy to take my number off her list if I would give it to her, along with my name.  I didn't, and told her I might call the DNC registry.

I noticed that PureFitness doesn't seem to have a website, which is curious.

How could a Fitness gym be disguised as a Collection agency? I don't have any collection agencies calling me for anything anyway.

The girl said it was probably someone trying to tell me I won a free membership or something.

Does this sound loony to anyone else?

they called me about a bill for a doc's office which I paid by Credit Card on the day of service and I have a copy of my credit card bill, when they called I asked them for what day of service they are calling and they didn't have the right day, so when I said that they they don't have the correct information she sais "so who cares just pay your bill" I hung up the phone and will never pick up again when they call, it sounds like a scam.

I called back this number at approximately 11:30pm when I got home from work and a man answered.  I asked him who this was and he asked me who I was.  I told him that I was just calling back a number that was left on my caller ID and he told me that this was impossible as this number was never given out.  However, I have 7 missed calls from them just today.

This number calls me between 17 and 32 times a day. Sometimes they will call 4 times in a row, within the span of 2 to 3 minutes. They never leave a voicemail.

This company is also a debt collection agent for a gym company called Pure Fitness. Their call center that I spoke with is in Illinois and their corporate office is in White Plains New York. They told me that I owed 6month of membership for a gym that I cancelled log ago. When I advised them under the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) that I no longer wish to receive phone calls regarding this debt, the "agent" (read "b*tch") said that it doesn't matter. She will keep calling me hourly until I pay her and then hung up on me. I called back and asked for a supervisor. I spoke with a person named Mark Holcomb (alias I am sure maybe not. At least he was decent) who is a supervisor and had them mark me "do not call" -- I even recorded our conversation for "quality control purposes" so if I get another call, I am going to contact their corporate office and play the nice little recording for them. I hate collection companies. They are just people who get paid to annoy the hell out of you. It serves no real purpose. Turn the account over to a local law firm and sue me, then I will worry. Until then, stop friggen calling me! Lol

they are a debt collection company... therefor they collect debt for many companies.. vonage, golds gym.. other fitness centers, utilities, schools.. hospitals.... just pay your bills... geeezzzzz

Vonage using a shady collections company based in NY trying to collect bogus collections. Calls cell phone many times daily, don't pick up, they're scammers

this is a call from a collection company called apex. they call me 2 to 3 times a day when I am at work, so I cannot answer. this is my personal cell phone number & I have no idea how they obtained this number. They have even called me on a sunday! This company is very persistant & annoying, not to mention rude!

I've received two missed phone calls from this number and I can guarantee you it's not about debt collections as I don't owe anyone any arrears and never have.  When I called back from my work phone I got the 'all agents are busy assisting other callers' message and was flipped into voicemail on the third round of recordings.  I was asked to leave my name, phone number and PIN.  The recording never states who you are calling and I'd be pretty sure this is a scam.

I have been recuperating in bed since Friday, September 7 from surgery. I was sleeping and awaken by a caller from this number on Monday, September 10 at 4:51 PM. Since I did not recognize the number on the caller ID and no message was left, I did not call back.

Please do not call as I am ill. I have previously registered my telephone number with the State of Connecticut on the "no call" list. If I receive one more call from 866-592-0300, I will immediately report it to the State of Connecticut as well as call my District State Representative.

Collections call for Vonage phone service.

I missed a call from this number, so I searched it and nothing came up at first.  So I called back and asked who it was.  It's almost 9pm and she told me she was a debt collector, for who I don't know.  I told her she could pay my phone bill for wasting my minutes calling me on my cell phone or she could call my attorney and talk to him about it, since they're not allowed to call after 8pm.  She didn't seem to like that very well.

"First let me tell that I am a debt collection business...." was the first thing out of the caller's mouth once she identified that I was the spouse of the person she was calling for. I advised the woman calling that this was a personal cell phone (mistake maybe??) and she was using up my minutes and told her never under any circumstances to call it back again and hung up.
