I got a call from a man with a very heavy Indian accent as well from the get go I told the man he was incorrect as he said people had hacked my computer multiple times and were putting viruses in it and were even doing things illegal from it. He gave me my aol account name and the registration license id number for my computer which I told him this proved nothing to me as any hacker would be able to get this information. He then had me type in the Ammyy address and got angry with me when I told him I was reading the warning on it. I knew what the program was as I help others fix their computers remotely and I wasn't about to install this program as I knew it would let him in my computer which he kept denying. When I asked for his phone number to report him to the BBB he told me it was none of my business thanked me for wasting his time when I pushed for him to give me their phone number he hung up on me. lol I knew it was a scam/hoax from the get go and continually told him he was wrong and I wasn't interested. my phone number isn't listed anywhere in the registration to my computer so he had to of gotten it from a website I've made a purchase at or Facebook as those are the only places I've entered my phone number in my computer. he kept telling me "I needed to trust him" and he guaranteed I'm going to lose my computer which made me very angry and confirmed my suspicions that he himself was a hacker or scam artist. the number that came up said United States +1002 which I should have never even answered but I have some pending issues with the federal gov't and thought maybe it was them calling.

Ricky,

How did they hack into your computer? They called me today and said hackers hack into my computer.  I told them that I could not talk and got a number to call them back.

You might find that it works if you call from a number that they have not included within their system records as already been caught.     Might be possible to record an incriminating conversation good enough for law enforcement.

Hi, the same thing happened to me and I fell for it.  The next day I realized that they sold me a free program "System Mechanic"  I called them back and asked them why they charged me for a FREE program.  They said they diagnosed my computer for malware and fixed my computer and I really don't know what they did and I just hope they didn't get personal information.  I called IOLO Software company and they are reporting them to BBA but they can't help check my computer unless I pay them $200 so where does this end?  I don't know

I've been getting calls for 2 days from "Henry Smith" from "Windows Security." He claims that my computer is being threatened by hackers, and I should follow his commands on my computer to protect it. I contacted McAfee, as I use them for my antivirus, firewall, etc. I was linked up with a representative via chat, and was told that this was a "fake call" and to disregard it and take no further action. McAfee was then able to show me 13 recent attempts to get into my computer, which, thankfully, had been blocked by their product. They assured me that my computer was well protected, and to never allow access to anyone who calls making such requests.

I kept getting calls on my cell phone and  thought it was strange that no phone number was left. When I checked the number it would be like 406,208,1113. Only 3 or 4 digits would be left after each call. When I received one of the calls I was told my computer will crash I I don't purchase their product.

I'm getting repeated calls on my cell phone from these people.  All with Indian accents.  Sometimes from the 866 number, but more often now Blocked or Restricted numbers.  There have been other numbers as well.  They keep asking to talk to someone I've never heard of, and who didn't ever have my telephone number, as I've had it for over 20 years.  They are certainly persistent - probably 2-3 calls per week.  They have called me a liar about not being they guy they ask for.  All the same stuff as above.  When asked, they do identify themselves as DGPL Technologies, the Windows service provider.  Usually after I ask them a couple of questions, they just hang up.

They said they were via Microsoft and had my computer ID number - "Dora Mary Roka" and she got me on to a sharing platform and transferred me to "Sebastian Hernandez" who took over my computer, then told me 79% of it was damaged and i needed to buy their system for $100 - now I am also concerned that they have access and may damage files.

I received a call from "1417".  The gentleman with an Indian accent stated that I had a problem with my computer, and he was calling to help me fix it.  I was suspicious right away, and asked for the name of his company.  I looked it up online as he was speaking, and saw this website.  When I told him that I believe he was somehow trying to scam me, he hung up.

I just received a blocked call from these people claiming to be windows service technicians, they gave me my desktop security registration code which bothers me to the extreme that they would have this as they are SUPPOSED to be personalized for each computer sold......James claimed that he had gotten multiple messages about my compute being infected and shutting down and that my computer would eventually shut down completely and never work again.  He tried to get me to go to a website called www.showmypc.com and right there on the website it states customers will NEVER be called....when I asked about this contradiction there were multiple claims about this being an official microsoft website...but he told me he was from windows which he claimed was different from microsoft.  After multiple contradictions and my refusal to access the website James with the heavy Indian accent got highly agitated with me over the refusal to cooperate since it was "for my own good".

Got a call from this phone number 216 claiming that my computer was in danger. This person said that their name is Brad Anderson, ID# 32160. He was very convincing. However, I was very skeptical so I did not go through the process that he was asking. This is the phone number they provided me with to call them back.  866-662-2747

I received a call from a 4-digit number, and some dude with Indian accent ask to speak with the "owner" of this phone number (how professional ha!). He told me that he was calling from window's service center because my computer sent a message to him that there were viruses on my computer. He told me that he could show me viruses on my computer if I type www.ammyy.com on my IE address bar. This was screaming SCAM, so I asked him to give me his company phone number, which was 866-662-274. I google the number and thanks to you all here for confirming my suspicion. I told him not to call me again and hung up. He called back right away and gave me attitude for hanging up on him. So, I gave him a piece of my mind and CLICK!

I just received a phone call from Edward who also stated he was from Windows and he asked for my 16 year old daughter. He said there was a lot of activity coming from her email and that was virus infected and our computer was being over populated with viruses. What? They gave use our I.P.address and my daughters email address. Something is way wrong if they have this information. They sent use to this web site ammy.com to download so they could get into our computer. Obviously they have to some degree hacked into our system using my daughters email. This sounds to me like it should be illegal. But what can we do? All we can do is file a complaint with the BBC. So what about my daughter and her privacy sense she is only 16. Something should really done about this.

I received a call from Edward.  He said he was from Windows service center.  Told me there was a lot of traffic, and viruses on my computer that needed to be fixed right away.  I did not do anything because i was not at home.   When he called back I told him i still was not at home was there a number that i could call back on and he gave me this 866-662-2747 number to call back on.  I then looked this up on google and found it to be a scam.  i also asked how he got my information and he said he got it from the International Routing System..
