this number gives me the one ring then hang up about three times a day. i never responded. just looked it up and found all your post. glad i'm not alone. might have to look into blocking this number. thank you above posters.

i keep getting calls from this ## the person who they asked for doesn't live in this house.

I have requested to stop calling but keep calling at least 6 times a day even in the weekends at 7am.

Just received a call from them (Astra Business Solutions) looking for a Lindsay Gilbert.  They were calling last fall for her, whom I don't know, using 866-823-1670.  I asked them to stop then, but they kept calling, so I filed a report with the FCC and filed a complaint with the national Do Not Call list (I am on it) and the calls stopped until yesterday.

So, now they are using 585-598-1670 instead and I just filed another complaint with the nation Do Not Call list.  They are persistent.  If they called you on the 866 number and promised to stop, anticipate getting harassed by them in the future using a different number.

866-823-1670   "Astra Business" on caller ID.. they left a short and completely unintelligible message. maybe hoping that will raise curiosity and cause a call back.  Hey Astra... LEAVE A MESSAGE.  then you will get a call back. Jerks

Ever since I bought my new cellphone I started getting calls from 866-823-1670. They call for "Lois" something-or-other. The thing is, every call is a recording, not one is from a "liver" person. Sometimes 3 or 4 times a day, every other hour. My cellphone number did not change and I was not getting calls from this 'entity' so why did the calls start coming after I bought a new phone? Doesn't make sense to me.

I've blocked this number from my phone, but I still would rather NOT get them.

Have had several calls from the 866-823-1670 number. Have not answered for we have caller ID. We have no debts so cannot be looking for anyone at our house.
Last night received a call at 9:18 p.m.

I set my phone’s default ringtone to “none”. For each of the people or businesses that I want to receive a call from (or from whom I am willing to accept a call), I assigned a ringtone to their number. So, my phone rings only when there is a call from any of those pre-approved numbers.  The phone does not ring when anyone else tries to call.
When I check the list of missed calls, I can see what numbers attempted to call. Usually, those calls were attempts from collection agencies (probably trying to locate the person who had this number before me). But, of course, those calls are no longer answered.

Im tired of them calling me.  Dont't let them leave a message. I answer and hang up.

I received a call today...this guy was from India...called me this times didn't want to tell me what his call was about...

These people are a collection agency.  Don't try to deal with them, it is impossible.  They call here constantly to attempt to collect a debt owed by my brother-in-law, who used my address as his permanent one when he got the credit that he didn't repay...

I posted before saying that were asking for a "Stever Spangler". I never answer and let it go to my voice mail (which states my first and last name). So I am assuming that they heard my name and changed it from Steve Spangler to my name, so now the jerks ask for my name instead. Tricky bastards.

They call my house constantly for some lady with our last name but it's not us, I tell him he has the wrong number then he calls right back not even a second later. I called the number to tell them to stop and the chick was rood. They are harrasing me.

Yeh it is Astra Business services.
They feign that they are calling in response to an employement application.
And some dude who barely speaks english makes the pitch.
So yeh, it is just another scumbag leach collecting or trying to collect the banksters interest.And they have no real legal right to collect any debt unless the debtor himself gives them that right by signing in with whatever their scam is, and agrees to pay them additional for the "favor"

they are debt collectors...they are evil and violate every aspect of F.D.C.A. contact a lawyer that protects from this kind of behavior... they usually will charge you..however will take a percentage of the settlement....have info on their actions documented...dates, what they said to you, how many times they call during the day, ect. They keep calling asking for a "Steve Spangler"?? I have no clue who that is. I have told them I am not him (I am female) and they keep calling. Is there any way to report these people or get them in trouble for harassment to a non-affiliated party? Steve sux!

Received a phone call from this number at my work. Secretary gave me the
number. When I returned the call they ask from what number did I receive the call and the day.!? Asked for a persond who does not work here but our last names are the same. Where they got this phone number, I don't know. Secretary said they had phoned before. What to do?

Called me last year demanding I owed a debt on a credit card I paid off and closed in 2003, the caller insisted that I still owe on the credit card and when I asked for proof of the debt the the operator became irate and started demanding that I give him my bank account info and that if I did not pay him now I would be sued. i hung up and do not answer their calls anymore.

I rec'd a call at my work phone #, after I have told them NOT to call my work and to only call my home #.  Andy Garcia is the rep who called me and he said that if I didn't want to have calls at work to give another #.  I gave him my phone # and he refused it stating that it didn't work.  I have my phone internet and cable with Verizon and they are all functioning.  He told me that he would not take that # and I had to give an alternate # to have him stop calling my work. I asked what company he was from and he said Astra - that is when I told him I looked them up online and that I know they use illegal practices to attempt collections.  He quickly gave me his number and told me to call him back.  I am not calling, I am going to fax them with a cease contact at my work.

They have called my home # numerous times, not leaving a message. I finally answered the phone today and they told me that they are calling from ASPRA Business. A diversified business organization. Of course it is a collection agency. By the way, the person they wanted to contact does not exist in our household.

They violate all aspects of the Fair Credit Debt Collectors Act.

End some of the aggravation by making the scam caller SPEED DIAL
then you can choose the RING TONE
and now you choose NO RING option
thus at least you do NOT need to hear them call
and thus you WONT'T have to ANSWER!!!!!

Same story here - BUT - I received a letter also claiming that we owe $80 to the Bank of America - we do not.
I have received other mail claiming we owe $1200 to Bank of Americqa - we do not.
I understand that unscrupulous individuals obtain printouts of bills due - from YEARS ago - and they attempt to harrass you and hope that you pay without realoizing it is bogus.
I too do NOT answer but I am SICK of it - every day - all day - thinking of getting the number blocked.

They called my office looking for one of our supervisors, who has a bad drug habit and never pays his bills and always gives the office number as his own phone number because his cell phone is constantly shut off due to lack of payment. I assumed, just because they asked for him, that they were bill collectors because nobody else ever calls here for him. When I asked if he'd know what the call was in reference to, they said "an important business matter", therefore verifying my assumption. They've only called once...I'll wait to see how persistent they are.
