They say they are Paypal, but I called Paypal's customer service number to ask why they were harassing me- Paypal knew nothing about it and advised me to ignore the calls.

If they take you to court, they will have you pay for their court costs.  That includes lawyer fees.  Those fees can be several thousand of dollars.  Just advising.

Left message on machine to call with important business matter-paypal credit. I have an acct with them so I called. A recording saying pay pals bank was changing names. Wanted my acct number. When I didn't have asked for my social. I hung up. Was all very suspicious.

Tired of this number calling us and then not leaving a msg..

This number 866-899-6190 calls me 5-7 times a day, The number comes up on my phone with United States under it, but when I answer no one is there, or its hung up.  If This number needs to talk to me they had better leave a message, as I am not answering the phone.

These people call all the time. It is 11 am right now and they have already called 3 times this morning. I work nights, and they wake me up every single day. My mother is very ill and I cannot leave the ringer off. This has been going on forever, I must have 1500 calls from them on my phone. I do not have a card from Paypal, and never have had one. My phone is on the "Do not call" list. Please tell me how to make them stop. If my mother was not ill, I would get rid of the phone.

It is Paypal Smart Connect informing you of your account summary. Letting you know your balance & payment due of how much & when.

If you get a call that asks to speak to a (your name), and they say they are calling about paypal and it is personal, DO NOT TELL THEM ANYTHING!!!!! They are NOT with paypal.
IT IS A SCAM!!!!
Call paypal at 1-888-221-1161 and verify if they are calling you about your account. If you are in the US, and you get someone that sounds foreign, you may request to speak to someone in the US and they have to make every effort to send you to a US based representative. Do not take no for an answer.

Recieved multiple calls from this number. A guy answered then tried to strong arm me into making a payment to Paypal. I told him I was current on my payments and he tried to act tough and hard threatening me with this and that. I told him to get bent and called Paypal. They then verified that they were associated with the number and I needed to make a payment. Then she verified I was current but still tried to make it my fault he called me. To which I explained that I will continue to make my  payments as agreed and as normal as long I do not receive one more call. Then I was closing out my account. But if I received one more call I would cease any further payments and let them actually put me in collections and they would spend more than the $500 I owe collecting a single penny from me. Strong arm tactics do not work for me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she hung up on me. Yep I see a BBB entry in the making.

It wouldn't be a Tanya Cado would it? I get calls for her all the time, and I've never heard of her. I've had my number for more than 15 years too! So I know what you are talking about regardless of who they ask for. Some people seem to think this is a collection co working on PayPal's behalf. I get several calls a day from them and I don't owe PayPal anything. Also, a lot of people state that there is never anyone there when they answer. Not so, a computer calls phones and when someone answers, an operator is notified and they "pick up" or connect to you. It's legal - as long as they respond within something like 2 seconds of someone answering. It's more like 10 or more seconds in my experience, so they can't even obey that law. Good ;luck.

This is PayPal calling you.  EVEN 5 DAYS AFTER YOU HAVE PAID YOUR OUTSTANDING BALANCE they will call you from India 3 to four times a day or night. They are the most annoying group I have known, and when you ask them to STOP they carry on. PAY PAL get your act together and update your records, or you will lose all your customers. I will defiantly cancel my account with you.

These people call me 10 times a day, every day. If I answer, there is no one there, If I don't it goes to VM but no message is left. A real PITA!!

A man with a very thick mid-eastern accent claims to be PayPal. I called PayPal and they say this number is not associated with them in ANYWAY. This is a scam in an attempt to get social security numbers and PayPal account numbers. If you get a call from this number, don't give them any info and then report them!

called back , call is from ge capital- some sort of collection. I asked for number to be removed. my number was given by someone else. they auto dial and expect you to wait for them to answer. and dialing *67 does nothing , they still can see your number

This is Paypal credit.  I too am current with my payments (actually had a 0 balance at the time) and received multiple calls.  I tried calling back on the customer service line to see why they were calling and sat on hold till I hung up.

Did exactly as someone here suggested and the call is from Pay Pal Credit.....

I receive 4-5 calls per day. No message is left on my voice mail. This has been going on for 4 weeks.

Unwanted call

Received 3-4 calls per day. Finally answered one only to have no one speak at the other end. Called the number and it answered "Pay Pal Credit." I then went online to Pay Pal to see what the deal was. Their chat program immediately referred me to a case number and asked me to call their customer service line. The way this was treated, it is  definitely a Pay Pal issue. I know credit and collection laws. I am current with my balance. Calls that have no voice on the other end constitute harassment. File complaints with your state's Attorney General's office. These harassing calls need to stop.

this number calls me ALL the time at all hours of the morning and night!  They will not stop calling, I have called the number back and all I get is a recording.

These people call and call.  When I try to return calls...never get an answer.

Thanks for the info about the paper invoices.  I will go nline and change that.  Maybe they will quit calling.

This is a message from Pay Pal Buyer Credit about discontinuation of paper invoices.  Most likely through GE Money services type credit card.

I'm an old man, with many physical issues. It physically hurts for me to go to my phone.  I've had these calls morning and night for months. I don't have bills, I owe no one. Never used e-bay or pay-pal, yet pay-pal or someone who claims to be pay-pal keeps calling me. A SCAM in my opinion.

Wnen a live operator answers, hang up like they do to me, or just quietly stay on the phone until they hang up. Then you hang up.
