they are not real.  they are a scam comp who buys dead debts from collectors for cheap and turns around and uses illegal tactics to try to convince us we still owe the money even though the debt has been long cleared off our credit reports.  they use any tactic they can to make their profit.  dont talk to them or supply them with any info.

they buy dead and old debts from these collectors for dirt cheap and turn around and harrass us and lie to us saying we owe the money even though we dont.  That is how they make money off dead debts

Actually CVCS is a real collections agency, I had the horrible experience of dealing with them recently because my DME (durable medical equipment) provider forwarded an INVALID debt to them.

CVCS lies to you and is absolutely ruthless.  I dealt with my DME provider who admitted an error and supposedly is going to be calling CVCS to remove my debt from their account.

I only posted this to tell you all that CVCS is a REAL collections agency and if they are calling you, it *could* be because of an actual debt that you owe.

In my case I got a bill from my DME for $109, I thought it was in error and I called them to confirm, they told me I only owed $20.  I paid the $20.  I got another bill for 109 next month, I call again, they tell me I owe ZERO.

A month after that, BOOM, CVCS is calling me at freaking work about the $109.

I'm still in the process of getting my DME to call CVCS and get my name out of their system.

Now I see on the news that collections agencies are using the court system to put thousands of people in county jail over debts....welcome to the new America, where debtors prison is a real thing:

Theycan collect if you are naieve enough to send them money.
When you send them your money with their name on it, they cash the check.
All a person needs to cash a check is a company name.
They just get a business liscense under that name and they can cash any check written to that name..

Debt Collector
For the last couple of days I've been getting a call from a company called CVCS. They gave their number as 1800-252-2107. They called my home number. I decided to call them back from my cell but I didn't give them my real name or any name. The lady that answered the phone asked me where did II get their number from because she didn't recognize my cell number and who I could be. I decided not to give any more information and hung up.

I don't know who these people are and suspect they are some kind of scam.
I am warning all who read this note not to get invollved with them. They are  probably a phony collection agency and get people to send money to them thinking they're actually paying off a bill they owe. But in reality, they just take your check or money order and cash it but do not repot any bill paid or correct your credit.

How can they legally collect a "dead" debt? If the original company has written it off, how can another company take that money? Just doesn't make sense to me.

I was given a recycled number from Verizon over a year ago and now I get these calls for a nearby business daily early in the AM -- waking me up on days off. Unfortunately it isn't the only collection agency calling my number and I spoke with a human for the first time yesterday and found out whom they were trying to call.  I located the new number for the business and let called the collection agent back and gave them the new number in order to remove my number.

However, having the number removed from the list doesn't always work since collection agencies resell the debt to other collection services, so time may go by and the calls start up again.

Verizon says nothing can be done but to change your number (demand they waive the fee) and subscribe to the "nuisance call list".

I received a call today, Friday, May 8th from 1-800-947-2987.  The automated voice said a Neil at the above number from a company that sounded like CVCS is trying to contact Christy L. Moran to collect a debt.  I have no such debt that would have been turned over to a collection agency.  I had a feeling this could be a bogus call or company & googled the company first.  I now see where this company makes random calls to many people all over the country regarding random old debt or they are calling a number for a certain person that doesn't even live there.  But apparently, according to the google message boards the people at this company are not willing to help you AND if you do call them back, they automatically charge your VISA (which they already have somehow).  I do not want to get mixed up in this mess with a bogus or fraudulent company.

People at this number have been calling for months.  Usually I do not pick-up because the caller ID states "UNAVAILABLE"  When I have answered they ask for the same person.  Someone who does NOT live here!!!!  I tell them this and they continue to call.  My caller ID IS FULL of these calls and I am NOT A "HAPPY CAMPER". I have now told them I am reporting them to the FCC.

Have gotten many calls from this number but today it was a new message with an automated voice telling me that they have had a difficult time getting in touch with me by phone and for me to call Tom at 800-947-2987.  Like others I don't answer or return calls to people that can't give me more information about why they are calling.  I believe it's a "collection agency" but I'm not positive.  It's just very annoying.

Yeah, these people are crazy. They get ahold of some ancient bill someone owes from like 8 years ago, and start calling whatever number was attached to the bill at that time. Then they harrass the crap out of you in an attempt to collect the debt.No matter how many times you say you don't know the person, they just keep calling and calling. They're bottom feeders trying to collect on "dead" files from companies who have given up long ago on trying to collect the debt.Don't answer it.

They called me as well, said they are trying to collect a debt. She wanted my work name, phone and address...yeah right! I told her I wasn't giving her any information and to stop calling. They continue to call at least 3-4 times a day.
These people are ridiculous!

The first time I received a call by this number I mysteriously had a charge of $4.95 on my VISA. My wife and I have done research on this number and turned it over to my bank for investigation. Other people have been charged $2.95-$6.95. It seems if you call the number back or just answer they have your VISA card number already and will charge your credit card. The first time I didn't look at my phone and answered. Do not answer.

They called my cell phone and did not leave a message.  I called them back and they were very short with me on the phone.  I did find out that they are called CVCS and they are a collection agency.  Looking for a name I did not know.  Said they would remove my number.  I googled them and this is what I found out. They are Coachella Valley Collection Service 44825 San Pablo PO Box 928 Palm Desert CA 92261.  They have a toll free number to call (888) 710-5666.  I suggest if they keep calling you, that you return the favor and tie up their business line.

A lowlife debt collection company, They get an out of date debt (99% of the time it's paid off) or make one up thats usually 2 to 3 years ago and say you owe them money (which counts as fraud).

They will lie, they will try to say any thing, do not give them money, do not comfirm who you are, do not try to reason with them.

Find the bill they claim you owe and if you get a letter report them to the BBB and FTC.

Automated messege asked for an individual , who was unknown and to confirm by pressing a number. It did not end after pressing  the number for NO. It then asked to press another number in regards to the same unheard of person. I pressed '0' instead of one of the ones it asked for, to attempt to speak with a live person. What happened is that the system disconnected the call.
I called the number back and spoke with a person that said "CB?S", didn't hear the thrid letter. They were looking for a person who left my number for a contact number. I told them no such person is here.
We'll see what happens in the future.

This is the parent company, or the company who is actually the "caller" www.cbcinnovis.com. Call these people and tell them you are reporting them to the FCC or when 866-902-3451 calls you repeatedly tell them and do report them, on line, to the FCC.  IT WILL STOP!!!

This number is apparently used by CBC Innova credit and collection service of Cincinatti, OH. www.cbcinnovis.com If you call the number you are asked for an account number. Since you do not have one, they will ask for the number that they called. After a short discussion in which they state that it was left as a 'contact number' and try to get you to say you know the person they are looking for, insist upon having the phone number removed. Do not call from your own number; even if you block CID, they collect the number since they are paying for the call. Call from a pay phone or a fax machine. If you feel you are actually being harassed, you could try the phone CO and authorities in Ohio, although the call center could be anywhere.
