Called asking for a unknown person..

They call all the time anytime of the day and don't leave messages.  It is basically annoying.  Our phone number is on the do not call list so how are they getting through!

The Do Not Call List is a joke.
The scammers aren't going to pay attention to a trivial little thing like that.
The most effective way that I've found to reduce the number of annoying phone calls is to answer any call that originates from a toll-free number in the following manner:
Pick up the phone, say "F**k you, have a sh**ty life, goodbye." and hang up.
Works like a charm.

I don't know who these people are or why they are calling.  I wish they would leave me alone or at least leave a message as to who the heck they are.

If they want to talk to us they need to leave a message. I will not answer the phone if I don't know who they are.

I just received the same phone call from 1-866-947-8295.  I went to another forum, just looking for some more information.  Well it seems that this is Wells Fargo trying to sell life insurance.  Burrow Owl, do not call list is a joke.  I registered our numbers(home and cell) and was sent an email stating that it would take up to 30 days for it to take affect.  Well it has been over 30 days now and we are still getting calls.
So Wells Fargo/Life Insurance.

asked who I was three times and said ok. Goodbye

They verified my name 3 times and then said ok goodbye
