I'm fairly certain that all political donations are public records, and as such contain personal information (like names, phone numbers, etc.) that may be exploited later by ANYONE to scam money.
DON'T FALL FOR IT.
My advice: NEVER reveal a credit card number over the phone to someone you don't know or can't verify by voice who calls you, despite their claims that "you'll be handed over to another person" who will securely handle the donation. Short the encrypted STU phones the Pentagon uses, there is NO SUCH THING AS A SECURE TELEPHONE that you or I can use to transmit a credit card number.
DON'T FALL FOR IT.
Go online to the actual candidate's secure web site to make donations.

They are for Romney campaign for those who'd like to donate for a change. This money goes towards advertisement, etc. If yo don't wanna donate Im sure they'll understand your situation.

This is a scam to get your cell number to share with scammers! Pressing 1 to take yourself off the call list just confirms for them that your number is valid! Don't be a dummy! Just ignore the calls!

received a call this morning needing my credit card information immediately for mitt's campaign...HAHAHA I dare say Romney would never receive a dime and my credit card # would be used to buy who knows what for some scam artist. Don't give your credit card or bank card info to anyone who calls you.

Call the number and enter your ten digit phone number and it will automatically remove you from the call list. Simple as that.

They call, i answer. Nobody on the other end. I've called back and a recording ( no identification) asks if I want to be removed from their call list"press one" . I press"one" . . They call back. Really annoying as they are calling on my cell phone.

Currently (9/8/12) the number is some phone bank for Romney, or claims to be.
