This is truly a scam, received a call on my business phone from 866-969-6652 asking for my card number........total scam.......they need to find employment rather than trying to rip people off!

what about getting a real job instead of scamming???

Why would you do this? And if by chance you gave a valid card number of a stranger, how would you feel?

Just happened to me - same as others described in the above posts.  My son kept saying, "hang up , it's a scam".

Surely an attempt at identity theft and the active number should be traceable.  Who would you report this to so at least the owner of the number can be hunted down and at least disconnected, maybe equipment confiscated. Better yet just publish name and address, lol. It'd get fixed.

Just got a call from this number. NOT giving anyone my card numbers on line or phone.  If any one gets a call from this number REport it

The message was for Net Spend.  They requested a credit card number and ould not allow an option to speak to a live person

Let it go to voicemail and got a message about please give us your Netspend credit or debit card number. I have never even heard of Netspend, but even if I had I would never give these scammers the number.

Yup, I just got one of these too. Same netspend mumbo jumbo. I don't have a netspend card so was immediately suspicious. Kind of like the two random little packages with cheap costume jewelry I received in the mail from China a month or so ago. Needless to say I'm now signed up with a fraud detection/ID theft prevention service.

Things are getting nuts out there. Makes me want to just go all cash.

I received a call from this number and thought it was a total scam.  SO........I called and was going to play along to find out what type of scam they were pulling.  Nobody answered so I left a message sounding paniced that somebody may have my credit card number and thank you so much for letting me know. I asked for them to call me back and I put in the account number of a fictitous, totally made up number and am now waiting to see what happens next.

Unrecognized telephone numbers are not answered.  This 86-969-6652 just left a message about a 'debit card'.  I have no credit cards whatsoever.  Be aware that they are also using the "Mr. Number" 210-901-6009 and a number out of Florida 305-368-8614.  Guess someone doesn't have anything better to do than to bother citizens.  They need to find WORK!!!

I just received the same call that Skyler describes. Definitely a scam; her advice is sound: ignore these fools.

I've gotten this call several times saying to contact them about a credit or debit card.
When you call, the automated system asks you to give your card number to them.  I
called the credit card company directly and they said they are getting a lot of calls from
people having their card numbers taken by them automated calls.  Do not give them your
card number.  If you have a concern about your card, call the card company directly.

Called and left a message to call back and put in the account number of a netspend debit card.  Most likely a scam.
