I just called them and you can't understand anything they say. Lots of noise in the back ground and they don't identify their company. I asked to have my work number removed from the list....due to the type of company I work for. He asked me to give him the number so he can remove. I said no...you have the number on your Caller ID! Not very bright! I think they are a bunch of crooks!

I received a call from this number and asked the name of the company: Monarch Recovery Service
They were asking for David Morgan. Their information was totally incorrect. They agreed to remove my cell phone number from their records.

This number has been calling me daily for about the last three or four months. I'm 16 so it's impossible for me to owe them any debts. I've had it up to here with them. Has anybody had any success in getting them to stop calling? HELP!

This company has several numbers they call from. I have them on "reject" because they are very unprofessional and ask way too many personal questions. I will not give out private information over the phone. DUH!! Some people want to pay their debts, but when they constantly get harassed by unprofessional morons like this it makes most people say screw it. We as consumers have rights and should find out what they are and show these morons that we will stand up for our rights. Unless we get together and stand up to these people they will continue to harass people. All they do is threaten and harass people. Enough is enough already....

This person or company continues to call our number too... no message is ever left. Tried to call them back and they answer not identifying themselves. The man that answer the phone sounded of a different race barely understandable. How can we stop them from calling?
Laura 2011-06-06 21:03:53 Unknown
They keep calling both my home number and my cell phone number every day (several times) I do have debts, but I refuse to do business like this over the telephone because you don't know if it is a legitimate collection agency. I have requested numerous times to communicate ONLY by U.S. Postal service on legitimate letterhead paper so I can check them out with the Better Business Bureau. They won't stop calling me.
Mysterious Man 2011-06-06 21:03:53 Unknown
These guys call me every day at about Noon PST. Every time I pick up I just tell them to start operating in America before I talk to them and hang up and they usually don't call back.
I try to use different vocoder voices to talk into and sometimes just answer and blow my air horn into the phone.
Screw these guys, you either don't owe debt or it's illegal for them to collect it from you anyway. I say, just keep air-horning them and maybe they will go away.
BRob 2011-06-06 21:03:53 Unknown

Just received a call from 866-998-4558 asking to speak with my former husband, how would they get my number when I haven't had contact with my X in 20 years? The person was rude and did not speak clear English, when asked the nature of the call she said in broken English, "I cannot disclose the nature of the call" and that excuses her for being rude. Looking down the list of other people who have received this same call it appears to be a collection company. Private information is being cultivated from what source? Interesting at best....
Call is from Academy Collection Services. They are trying to collect on an old debt that is beyond the statute of limitation for my state.
Caller: Academy Collection Services

I have been getting calls from this number 2 to 4 times daily for the past 2 months...I need to know why ??
Responsible Citizen 2011-06-06 21:03:53 Unknown
You know why this happens ???
Because you do not pay your bills on time or don't have the heart to pay later even though u have the money.
Just think once you spend so much of your precious time bashing collection agencies & collectors who do their job to sustain a living. Won't it be great that you start paying your own bills instead of forgetting what we were taught as a kid. About foreign accent, people are less educated or do not fulfill the criteria for being a debt collector, (or for less investment of money) in America as compared to other parts of the world such as Europe & South Asia, hence the business is outsourced. Browse the internet to gain some knowledge folks, mere gossiping & bashing them here wont really SOLVE your problems.

In response to "Responsible Citizen" Just because someone receives a call from a collection agency does not mean that they are unworthy of mutual respect. I once owned a house with my mother and the town took the house under eminent domain to build a post office! Three years latter I received a call from an investment firm asking for payment on the mortgage. Well, the mortgage was paided by check by the town directly to the original mortgage company. I never saw the money! The investment firm had purchased securities in an auction and never did any research on the validity of the paper they bought. So in conclusion not everyone who gets calls from collection agencies is a dead beat, although you have not said it directly that is exactly what you intended to convey. If you do not want to see responses to your post like this one then you should keep your opinions to your self!

I receive at least 2 calls everyday from this number on my work and personal cell. They are trying to collect on a credit card I had 20 years ago...LOL.. I have registered this number on my phone as "never Answer" ... Keep on calling so you can listen to my voicemail douchbag!
Ray-Chill 2011-06-06 21:03:53 Unknown
If you would take the time to read most of these posts, that is assuming you can read, you would realize that most of the people posting don't even have a debt for this company to collect on - whether past the statue of limitations or not. They are harassing people whose family may have had an old debt or who have the same number as someone with a past debt (phone numbers are recycled). Trying to explain to this company that they have the wrong person is useless - they keep calling. They call me almost everyday and I have never been past due on a payment in my life, let alone have something go to collections, in fact my credit score is perfect. So, before you go on talking about the American education - educate yourself. In addition, if this company has not called you, why are you posting on here? Get a life!

Contact your states Attorney General. That's what I did. Our Attorney General will not put up with the stuff they put me through for a former roommates debt.

Calls all day every day. They ask for my husbands uncle who died 10 years ago. He lived with us when he was sick, but at a different address and phone number. They do not seem to understand that he is NOT alive. They ask all types of personal information about me that I never disclose, such as my name and social. The only reason that I continue to answer is to try to get them to quit calling. Tried to block the number, but they call from many different numbers. I am so sick of this.

So this number 866-998-4558 called me again and left no message. I called 866-998-4558 and a woman with such a terrible foreign accent maybe Filipino answered I do not know what she said. But she kept asking me if my name was L. Taylor. It isn't and I was having such trouble understanding the broken English, I told her "I can't understand anything you say" and hung up. Shoot if they want something they should say it in proper English.. or just don't call. I wish there was a way to get even. Raine1200@yahoo.com

From a DateLine NBC episode...
The next section begins the focus on debt collection agency abuses. First, Chris Hansen focuses on Academy Collection Service. Academy Collection Service, Inc and its owner Keith Dickstein (appropriate name) were ordered by the Federal Trade Commission to pay a $2.25 million fine late last year. According to the FTC Press Release: “its collectors misled, threatened, and harassed consumers; disclosed their debts to third parties; and deposited postdated checks early, in violation of federal law. This is the largest civil penalty the FTC has obtained in a debt collection case.”
Well, it seems that Dickstein and his crew are likely to be back in court as Dateline claims to have obtained a recorded message of someone calling from their offices threatening to rape a female debtor. That’s right, not a typo. The caller clearly threatened to rape the debtor and then laughed.
Additionally, Collection Attorney Pete Barry, who has tried many cases against debt collectors is interviewed and overs some insight as to why these collection agencies break the law so often. He states, as I have here often, that for many of these rogue collection agencies, settling lawsuits is simply a cost of doing business.

They called a million times and reading this I got annoyed and called back- I've had this # for 12 years and they are looking for "Shendron Brooks" who doesn't live here, has never lived here with me, and I told them to take me off the calling list, IMMEDIATELY. If they call back, I am calling the Don't Call registry and reporting them.
Hello 2011-06-06 21:03:53 Unknown
These guys are a collection agency that is trying to collect old old debts that
exceed the statute of limitations. They have purchased files for maybe a few cents on the
dollar in hopes that someone they call is gullable enough to pay.
