It doesn't matter if you're on the  "do not call" or not............NEVER answer a phone call (mobile or land line) from a number you do not recognize- if it's important- the CALLER will leave a message. These SCAMMER/SCUMBAGS WILL NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE

I had the exact same experience, as you.  My 'agent' name was Lynn.  I spent a good 15 minutes, on the phone, with her and she even went as far as giving me a "front desk number", that I could call to verify this information.  Instead, I used the time to look, on the internet, to see if there was any information. by the way, she KNEW and was a little miffed that I hadn't called the front desk and had told me so.  As would've you, I also would have had to pay taxes, by secured payment only and while I was on the phone with her.  I couldn't call back and I couldn't be billed, through the mail.  She said it was a 'first come and first served' deal, which is strange considering she had said that I had won it.  I had asked how I was entered and her response was "as I had said.....blah, blah, blah you were either on a cruise, in the past or you had entered a contest online."  A quick phone call, to my spouse, verified that neither of us could verify entering a contest and we had never been on a cruise, in our lives.  At least, I had taken up 15 minutes of her time, thus disallowing her to pester others, for that time.  I hope this helps.

I just talked to someone from this number after the initial automated message said I won a cruise for Carnival. I hit one to talk to someone (the other option was "2" - do not call me again). I was curious so I hit one. A male in his late twenties greeted me and proceeded to ask who he was speaking to, tell me that all I would have to pay were the taxes which were just under 100 dollars for a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas and almost 200 dollars for a 4/5 night cruise to somewhere (I kind of stopped listening). I told him that I was concerned because there is so much crap and deception and he responded that you can never be too careful in 2014 and he could send me to a website and I would receive information in the mail. The kicker was that I would have to pay the taxes today and I could add more from options later. After saying I did not think I wanted to drop 100 dollars today he said okay thank you have a great day and hung up, no helpful reassurance or caring about my concerns at that point... interesting.

An apparent "do not call "  Scofflaw ... These trashballs belong in jail.

There are ways to override a block. SO there is always the chance you simply confirmed your number when you called. I find the silence suspicious.

Yep they called my number, I didn't pick up and nope they didn't leave a message. I called back with my number blocked and it didn't ring but there was silence for around 10 seconds and then a rapid busy signal.

This number called on cell came in as unknown. No voicemail of course. But I always check this site for info from other savvy folks who are also ... Want to stop the insanity

This call was from an automated system regarding a cruise that I DID not sign up for. smh   Can you say ......BLOCKED!!!

I ignored the call, they left no message

This person called my texting software. My software doesn't actually accept calls or voice messages, but it shows that they tried.

I missed a call from this number and of course no message was left. Just another attempt by some scumbag using yet another fictitious number in an attempt to rip off the general public.
