Debt Collector
Friday 15 Feb 2013 - got a pre-recorded message from a Vietnam number +84 3410 9704, again cut off with no name. A semi-regular occurrence, and it concerns claiming for a refund due. They ask you to push button 2 or 5 on the handset, but I never have tried to contact them. I'm from the UK and never had a Chase card or any debts or overpayments. Just very annoying to get these messages on home and mobile phones.

Yes is chase bank credit collector, I dont know why sometimes the # appear like that, but those 2 number called me, so if they call you just answer and say u don't now is calling and why there calling, you can say: I don't give any personal information to unknow number.

I don't pick up or return calls unless I know the number or the caller properly identifies him/herself properly in a voice message. Somehow, the people behind this number think it's more effective to blow up my phone 3 sets of 3 calls per day. Quite possibly a debt collector, but I will not talk business with any non-American company/person.

I don't understand.  What is with these people?
I have my share of debt, both personal and through my company, so I am not unfamiliar with the collections process.  I don't understand why when I try to call these number back, do they not identify themselves???  I just get a "thank you for calling card services"....really?  Which friggin' card services?  or "Thank you for calling customer support"....okay...what customer???

Does anyone really think that i would give my banking or other personal information to a company that won't even identify themselves and hides behind fake caller ID numbers?   I mean, why, if you are a legitimate company, would you resort to such tactics?  Surely this raises "scam" red flags with every normal person they try to call???

They call me every five minutes for few hours a day. There seems to be two sides to this matter. One being that it is chase and the other saying its a scam. In this case it's jus better not to even pick up and just call Chase and take care of it yourself.

Its chase, don't know why its showing up with the vietnam #, but they have been also using several different numbers with area code 847, either way, if I had the money to pay, they wouldn't call.

Whoever it is calling my number. they don't leave a MSG. I don't have a chase account, never did. Maybe the person that used to have this number did. Any-who, I always have a crazy voice-mail recording waiting for them, seems like after a week of them calling and listening to my v-mail, they tire of it. Don't answer of I don't know the number. They can talk to Troy McClure.

Its CHASE BANK i'm 100% sure. believe me they are scum of the earth. thank god I have an iphone with an app that blocks their calls. I have had 285 calls from various chase origins for 2 months now. I'm logging
all calls because i'm going to sue these lowlife scum bags. I got behind on CC payments. I mailed in what I could. When I complained about the incessant calls they said if I set up an auto-pay plan (for 1 year) the calls would stop. I did, THEY LIED !

I have been getting calls for days now - morning, noon and night - and when I answer - no one is where - and I am sick of it. Called my cell phone company - and they said they cannot block numbers unless I want to pay money every month to do so - got call block app - does not help either. I think it is Nigeria scammers. ( So I am told) I wish they would catch these people.

Problem solved for me.. One I found out it's a scam. Two if your concerned about your account call the number behind you CC... Three I don't owe them s**t and only have a bank account now...

When I spoke to them they told me they have never called me ever. Blah blah blah "you are such a loyal customer and pay on time blah.."

Me: yeah you guys call me

Chase: we keep record of calls to our customers and no calls have been made.

They even told me there are scanners out there pretending. They told me to ignore them.

I DECIDED TO GO TO MY ONLINE ACCOUNT AND CHANGED MY CELLPHONE NUMBER TO MY OFFICR NUMBER... oh yeah my office number goes straight to fax because it's only use for fax.... And a week after all calls stopped.. Those mother flufferz get beeped each time they call.. Ha

That actually worked for me too.. I thought to pay for the blocking that AT&T has but then I said that's useless... Money loss there so I changed my Buber and a week later the two months of tortured stopped. They are calling my house phone which was disconnected since I never use it. However I don't owe them money I have a $0 balance. So why would they haunt us? It's spam!

I just got off the phone with JP Morgan Chase bank. This number +84 74 883313 is a legit number. I was told by the customer service rep. that as they are an international bank they have call centers based around the world. This number is from Vietnam and is a Chase Bank Call Center. Chase refuses to allow you to disallow this number or any number not from your country call. So as I advised her I will just have my phone company block all incoming calls from this number. I would advise you all to do the same. The employees from Chase are very rude about this and pretty much all other matters regarding well anything. So I doubt there will be anything else done about this problem.

india call center (based solely on the accent of the operator). i think it's a debt collector. i've gotten several calls but don't know the company yet. they want personal information before the "divulge" and i have no interest in giving anyone information unless i called them because i have an account.

i've gotten several calls, so if i get another one i'll try a few things and see if i can get a company name at least. when i get the call the CID comes through as +84 74 883313, another indicator that they are calling from a non-us facility (we here in the us believe that 10 digit dialing is the ONLY dialing, but elsewhere there are many patterns).

THIS IS A SCAM. These people are lying.  I just spoke to Chase ( in a call center in India) and they said ALL collection calls will come from the US. Chase said they DO NOT contract out there collections to other countries.  Country code 84 is Vietnam not India. DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFO OUT. If you are behind call Chase and settle the matter , knowing that your ARE talking to Chase

I have a better idea than not giving your info or not answering the phone.  Answer the phone and play with them for a while so its eating up any profits they are getting from people. Then call the Vietnamese Embassy (202.861.0737) every time you get this call and complain. Thats what im doing starting tomorrow.

I've gotten a couple of calls from this # as well. I will not answer, like other posters, if they aren't willing to leave me a voicemail with full details of who they are and what company, as well as why they are calling.

It's easy enough to ignore the phone calls. Way too many scams out there today. I'm not risking it.

As a side note: I do not, and never have had a Chase credit card, account, or anything. Nor with anyone they've taken over or consolidated with.  Even more reason for me to never answer from this number if that's who they've identified themselves as!
