There are a scam.. you need to file a report to the federal trade commission if you sent money. Shane jackson is fake and so is the company. If you call the 188 number it is not even working. Make sure you file a complaint.

I think if you read the whole thread, you found out its a scam. Advance fee loans are illegal period. There isn't much to say, the money is gone. You can report it with the FTC, FCC and Consumer finance and your state Attorney general.  And at least get the word out on these scam operations with your local news.

Provencapitallending - and it's not good news. You have a Jamaican phone number, with a France contact. Gandi.net is a free web page provider. The web site was registered in October, for 1 year. The red flags on this one are on fire!

Landy, you might be surprised to learn that over 30,000 calls are placed DAILY from Jamaica to the United States for the purpose of trying to swindle/extort money. In most cases, these foul smelling creatures have only your phone number and will try to extract additional information from you using the ruse of trying to verify your correct name/address so they can deliver the prize package.

I was first contacted by these filthy, little animals, when I received a call from something calling itself "John Baker" (today it was "John Brown".) In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 2.5 million dollars from "Mega Millions" in Las Vegas. It instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS, load it with $499.25 to pay for my "registration fees." A few days after this call, I was shocked to see this particular scam featured on ABC World News. During that segment, they played the audio of a conversation between an elderly woman - who had already sent them $85,000 - and one of these black stained rodents.

When these roaches call again - which they will - please record the call and share that information here in this forum. Please include your area code - JUST your area code - along with your posting name. Thanks.

You don't get your money back.  The scammer is in Jamaica or some other country that does not consider scamming dumb Americans to be a crime and does not cooperate with US law enforcement.  Your money is gone. You will never get it back.

They will call you again, asking for more money to pay more fees to get that loan.  They will continue asking for more money for as long as you send it.  They will never send you a loan.  Stop all contact with these scammers.

Aimee, this is an invaluable post - thank you for sharing it!

As I suspected, due to all the media coverage regarding the "Green Dot Card" variant of this scam, these woolly, headed little Jamaican beasts would be forced to find new ways in their attempt to extort money. Apparently, based on your post and a phone call I received yesterday, they are moving into the loan scam arena - an area in which I have extensive experience investigating. Please ensure you record ALL future phone calls with these scum bags.

These chiggers have also been trying to execute the well know Indian scam, "Your com-poo-tah is berry, berry bad infected." I don't see either of these schemes becoming very successful for a couple of reasons. These vile black rodents simply do not have anywhere near the requisite intelligence nor the advanced computer skills to accomplish taking remote control of a person's computer. Since many of us have been forced to call an outsourced computer technical support center, hearing some urine smelling "Rodney Patel," telling us our computer is sending out "error codes," did have SOME plausibility. Hearing the sound of some Jamaican chigger telling a potential victim that, "Mon, your cam-pew-ta be infected," does not.

Just another scam from Jamaica (Area Code 876).  Just ignore any calls from 876 or better yet, get a call blocker that can block entire area codes and block the 876 area code.

Yes I was approved for a 5k loan by this company Portsmouth lending.  I was told to send the first three payments of 163.34 which amounts to close to 492.00 and that I wouldn't have to pay again til October. They say that this buys me a protection in case of loss of work etc and that they would pay up to 6 mos on the loan. And they say they are doing this in accordance to NJ law. What is this ?
