The man named "John" has been calling my mother since April 2013. He has now proposed marriage to her (she is 80). She has sold her car , cashing out her accounts, and is buying a plane ticket to Jamaica. She is truly convinced this guy is in love with her. He claims to be a rich buisnessman. Beware of these phone calls.

"Roy Newman" has called me 6 times in 1 day, including 3 times at 3:30 am. I am a college student and I can't even leave my phone on vibrate in class or get any sleep because this guy won't leave me alone. I only answered the first time making sure it wasn't important. He has left me voicemails at night talking about how he has fallen in love with me. I'm very creeped out and angry.

Trudwa, thank you for sharing your experience. In researching this particular scam, I learned that there are over 30,000 calls made DAILY from Jamaica to the US for the purpose of trying to swindle/extort money. Sadly, many unsuspecting people - especially the elderly - do become victims.

Just when I thought I was FINALLY finished with from these filthy, little animals, I received a call from someone claiming his name was "John Felix" (what is it with these clowns - do they think every white person in the US has "John" for a first name?) In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 3.5 million dollars! As it turns out, this SHLF (Sub Human Life Form) was NOT connected to the scam operation that had contacted me two weeks ago. In that scheme, I was contacted by a "John Baker" who instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS to pay my registration fees because I had won 2.5 million from "Mega Millions."

All of these calls are being placed via Magic Jack and the audio quality is very poor. So poor, in fact, I had to abandon my recording of this most recent call just to understand the worthless porch monkey. In order to once again pay for "registration fees of 5%," I was instructed to obtain a Money Gram for $499.25 and that I would be sending it to "Lloyd David Cook, 5201 S. Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA." As it turns out that is the address of a sort of homeless rehab facility.

If you receive any more calls, PLEASE try to record them as this particular scam is now the target of a Federal probe using the code name, JOLT.

They just called me 2 times in a row. Once at 6:29 and again at 6:30. When they called a 3rd time I answered it thinking it might be urgent. Some guy that sounded half drunk told me I won a Million Dollar jackpot, but they needed my credit card number to verify it was me. These guys are real scammers.

I told him to go eat a big fat c*#k and then hung up on him.

Received a call from a guy who called himself "Roy Newman" from "Winners International," saying I had won $5.5-million PLUS a Mercedes-Benz (in the color of my choice yet!). All I had to do was to give him "one-percent of my trust" because he was "totally legit".
I could receive my prize either in public or in private and all I had to do was come up with $65 as "one percent of taxes and shipping and handling" fee, and I would get my prize.
I suggested that he take the fee off the top of the prize winnings, and he said that she prize was in the form of a check made out to me and that no one else could cash it. (There was even a four-digit ?package security code? that I needed to write down.)
I told him "No thanks," and "Goodbye." He has called back twice (so far) this same morning and left messages, asking me "What are you afraid of? Don't you want your $5.5 million?  You can trust me, I told you."
Sounds like the gang that can?t shoot straight.
I asked him for a number I could call back, and he said: "623-255-7220"--don't know if that's his other phone or just a fake.

Recieved 6 or 7 calls telling me I had won 5.5 million dollars, bud had to wire $250.00 to Renareo Rowe--Bounty Hall-Ja-Wi to get it. After telling Peter Cash that I wasn't interested on 4 different calls, he started threatening me with death and blood coming from my eyes, ears and nose and telling me of the thousands of dollars it would cost my family to bury me if I didn.t send the money. He then left 4 messages on my answer machine stating the same when I didn't pick up. Very scary but the police department was kind enough to let me know that it was just a scam. All this happened in one day.

We keep getting calls from different cell phones despite having asked these people to desist. The other number is 876-889-7977. The phone company won't do anything about them. Originally they had blocked their numbers, but now have to type them in to get through. They are a real nuisance.
