Register.com calling about renewal of domain names I don't want to keep. I logged into my account and changed my contact number to their 877 number. Hopefully they will call themselves from now on & leave me alone.

I just called them back and ask for there address so my attorney could sue them. I am on the Do Not Call, that's a joke. He said they would not call back, we will see.

Simple fix...If you have a Register.com account go into your account online and change your phone number to 888-734-4783.  That's their customer service number.  Now they will be calling themselves.  They don't need my phone number anyway.

Yes, register.com. They switch the number they call from every once in a while. They call three or more times a day every day. I usually get around to blocking them pretty quickly.

all you need to do is call the number and they will add you to the do not cal list... they were super polite.  it was regarding domain names for us as well... i have no option but to pick up the phone, however, as i menioned just call and have them put your number on the DO NOT CALL LIST.
BUT MAN IT SURE IS ANNOYING~!

This is Register.com where I originally bought a couple of domain names for my company websites. they keep making automated phone calls 4-5 times a day for over a week now to ask me to renew, I have already renewed the ones I want. I rue the day I ever used them to access and purchase my domain names!! This is telemarketing harassment.  I will never pick up one of these calls and am filing a formal complaint with the FTC.

I just answered the umpeenth call from this number. It's REGISTER.COM, the company which issues and records URL's. They were calling about a URL which I had told them months ago that I was not going to renew.

I told the woman who called about the massive problem and complaints online about repeated calls, and she admitted they do have a bit of a problem with their robocaller. DOH!

Just started getting calls a few days ago. About one a day for the last four or five days. No messages left.

I constantly receive calls from this number.  The phone is a company issued, not related to previous holder of the telephone number.  I will not return the call; waste of my time.

They called me twice today and didn't pick up--I let it go to voicemail but they did not leave a message.

this is a service contracted by Register.com to renew services with you if your account is near expiration.  I called them back and told them to cancel my account and to remove my number from their database. Lets see if it works.

877 204 5988 is a telemarketer for Register.com

They've called me several times a day for a week. I just called the number back. It is register.com. Call back and give them hell for their worthless automated dialing system.

They're back at it again!
18 calls between 1/11 and 1/20/2010, and now 6 more between 3/2 and 3/4/2010.
A Google search for "877.204.5988" resulted in:

But I doubt if that is their correct number because the top of the page states in an image:
 CALL TOLL FREE 1.877.204.3664

Their "Contact Us" page states:
 "If you?re in the United States or Canada, give us a call, toll free, at 877.204.3664.
 For our friends outside the U.S. and Canada, call us direct at 928.204.5988."

So it looks like on that one page, they mistakenly put "877" instead of their local area code "928".

My boss is as well.  Have you found anything out about this number.  I guess it calls my boss' cell phone at least once a day.  If you find anything out, could you let me know?  Thanks in advance, Theresa tglover@employeelawyers.net
