Debt Collector
I work in a law firm and received a message from "Marshall" calling on behalf of one of our clients.  He INSISTED he was calling from the providers office but I have a contact at the doctor's office that I have been dealing with directly and knew he was full of it.  I even asked him point blank if he was calling from a collection agency and he said NO, it was the doctor's office.  Interestingly, he happened to use the same extension - X7445 - as indicated by a prior poster.  Just used a different name.

I received a call from someone named Gabriel from "My Doctor's Office" to collect a debt.  I do not owe this debt.  I have a letter from Rachelle Nolasco from Med Data (www.meddata.com" stating she is sorry for the error that occurred on my account and stating our account balance is zero.  She even sent me a $50 gift card to appologize for their mistake.  I tried returing Gabriel phone message but in calling the number he left I get the following recorded message:  "transferring to voice mail system; however the mailbox of the person at 7066 is full; transferring to an attendant; a valid attendant number has not been specified".  I have contacted Med Data at 440-627-2630(1-800-261-0048 ext. 2630 Rachelle Nolasco) but have heard nothing from them.  I have also contacted MEP but nothing from them as well.  This issue has been going on for over  20 months now.  I am sooo sick of their games at MEP.  I have paid them everything my insurance company says I owe; yet, they still try to collect money from me that my insurance company has already paid to them.  I will never go to SMH again--I will die before I go to the ER there

Got a call from a gentleman with an Indian-sounding accent stating he was with "the Doctor's Office."  He said there were bills for a medical claim that we (my company) needed to submit to our workers comp carrier.  I asked him to fax them over, and he did ("Sam Young" was how he identified himself on the fax transmission).  The bills were indeed for an injury that one of our employees sustained 18 months ago.  Because of the small amount, I was going to pay it directly (rather than submit to our Workers Comp carrier) but there was no remittance info on the fax.  I called the number he gave on the fax cover, and a lady with an Indian-sounding accent answered, I couldn't make out what she said... I'm guessing "Doctor's Office" again.  I asked "is this Medical Emergency Professionals?" and she responded "yes."  I asked to speak to Sam Young at the extension 7445 shown on the fax cover.  She asked me to repeat the name, and then asked me to spell it.  After I sat on hold for a minute, she said there was no answer at that extension, and to call back in an hour.  Too strange!

Caller identified himself as an employee of Atlantic Emergency Associates.  I have no affiliation with that group.

The phone number 877-212-3006 belongs to "Med Data."  It is a debt collection agency for a number of doctors and medical offices.  They call from India and identify themselves as being from a particular doctor's office.  I spoke with one today and he swore up and down that he worked for a doctor's office and was collecting on client's bill.  After I got off the phone with him I called back and pressed the guy who answered the phone "Doctor's Office" as to who he really worked for, and he told me "Med Data."  I then called back and asked for the extension of the guy who had first called me.  He admitted to me that he did not work for any particular doctor's office, but that he worked for Med Data collecting bills.  I continued to press him because under the Federal Fair Debt Collections Practices Act he is a third party debt collector.  I finally got him to give me a local address for "Med Data"  in Cumberland, MD, but I have not been able to confirm it
