I found a postcard on my windshield while at walmart yesterday.  "EXCLUSIVELY FOR OUR CANADIAN NEIGHBORS." on the front.  And of the back:  "In celebration of our expanding to your area, you have been selected to receive A 7 NIGHT, LUXURY RESORT VACATION!  Respond within 48 hours and you will also receive A $100 GAS REBATE CARD!  To claim this special offer call:  1-877 ######## from 1pm to 9pm daily."
Holland America Line, Southwest, Hilton, US Airways, Marriott logos on front with sandy beach footprints.  States that it's not a timeshare presentation  =P  Way to Go Travel, Bellingham, WA  98226

I got a similar post card years ago.  Called the phone number.  They said I had to pay shipping, handling, and insurance on the tickets.  $400.  I didn't fall for it.

I suspect these postcards are similar but with a higher price for the insurance.

My snail mail postcard says "in celebration of our grand opening in your area" 2 rt plane tix PLUS if you respond in 48 hrs you also get a six night, seven day cruise.  Call between 1pm-8pm.
It also says "this is not a time share presentation"

I'm still not calling. There's no business name for "the grand opening". Scam of some sort. Legitimate business would put its name.

Yup, I got the round trip ticket postcard too (didn't believe it, of course). I also noticed a couple of interesting things at the top left of the card (return address location); little boxes "Postmaster: if undeliverable as addressed please do not forward" - odd. Would they be billed by PO if the card was forwarded? Good idea on their part, since their purchased mailing list is probably 10 years old. The other little box is a hoot: "Attention Recipient: Deliver directly to addressee. Obstruction of U.S. Mail is punishment of fines (sic) up to $5,000 or 5 years in prison or both." (Scare, scare - you'd better not throw this away!). Syntax looks foreign (or illiterate American).

I received the card in the mail...Called the number and left a message...I got a call back saying they were a travel agency in Blaine WA...Not a time share or "Club".   Ststed we were to attend a 1-2 hr informative seminar and would receive 2 RT air tickets  plus a $500.00 gift card?

I've heard that and done that before!

Almost the same info as Noto. Post card. Unidentified sender. U.S Postage paid. Permit 106 out of Blaine, WA.
Front of card:

"VACATION INVITATION".
"Dear Xxx Xxxxxx, Hello...and pack your bags! IN CELEBRATION OF YOUR BIRTHDAY (you were verified as of 7/06/2010) and as a result of this offer your name and ticketing number have been identified and issued! You will receive, at your request, 2 ROUNDTRIP AIRFARES TO ANYWHERE IN THE CONTINENTAL U.S.! We are excited for you!
Our records indicate that by responding within 72 hours you will also receive a $500 GIFT CARD!
To claim this special offer, call 1-877-219-2397 Daily - Noon - 8:00pm."
Back of card:
Print of a birthday cake. A birthday greeting. The words "Vacation Invitation" and the names of 4 big business: SOUTHWEST; MARRIOTT; U.S. AIRWAYS, and HILTON with an "H" Logo.

Strange use of English in some phrases and a few grammatical errors.
Overall, it sounds like a vacation/time-share/land pitch...or S-C-A-M.

Like Caller ID, when letters or post cards don't have a proper business name and/or full street address, you can bet that "something ain't right".

FOR Noto:   Thanks to you and the other posts for the good info!
Even though the odds are high that I wouldn't be the only one getting one of
these cards, as is usually the case, it's still good to know I'm not alone.

FOR zman52:  They said that they weren't a time-share or "Club", huh?
The M.O. sounded familiar didn't it? 1-2-hr informative seminar?
The last time I attended one of these was with a military buddy while the two
of us were on leave in Taipei, Taiwan, with a little time on our hands.
Two young, good-looking women, one Taiwanese, one Caucasian,
approached us and asked if we wanted a free lunch (yeah, we knew already,
"ain't no such thing"), but we went anyway to see what it was about.
After lunch, short entertainment on a stage; main sales guy talked.
Then, it was turned over to the sales folks at the tables who had used the
lunch and entertainment time to size us up.
Sales-to-target ratio was one sales guy for two marks.
Tried to sell us land back in the good ole USA.
                       We knew we were safe.
Neither of us made enough money to invest in land, anyway.
                       Interesting experience.  Food was good.

PLEASE PLEASE - Do not respond to these cards or phone calls it's a scam!  They are not a travel agency - they dupe you into buying into a vacation club - Please report them to the USPS and to your states attorney general's office.  If you want to travel use a legitimate travel agency that is in your hometown or one that has been referred to you.

THIS COMPANY IS NOT AFFLIATED WITH ANY OTHER TRAVEL AGENCIES WITH SIMILAR NAMES IN THE US

Rather than a call, this one showed up in the snail mail:  "...has scheduled you to receive 2 ROUNDTRIP AIRFARES TO ANYWHERE..."  Just call this number between noon and 7pm.  No return address, company name, etc.

US postage paid:  Permit 106, Blaine, WA

I will try to find out if it is a scam.  (almost surely is)
