called - left no message - I called the number back and a computer answered with "thank you for calling Verizon inbound sales support

But we're on the do-not-call list, and got the call anyway. They are also very impolite because they don't leave a message on your voice-mail. The only recouse is to have software that blocks specific numbers that you can enter.

Verizon is doing this:

Calling and hanging up.  Then, when you do a *69 and get their Verizon inbound sale support line, the idiot voice tree tells you that they are closed.

What the hell?  Verizon is idiotic.  I am so sorry that I have no other option than those incompetent morons.

I just got a call from this number. It rang 3 times and when I picked it up, there was nobody on the other end.  I dialed it back and I got recording that said it was Verizon's inbound sales support. I am already a verizon customer for my home phone as well as my cell phone, but they call me at least once a week offering me upgrades, internet service, Fios, etc.  Their marketing dept is relentless!!!!!  They get enough of my money every month. Why can't they just leave me alone?

If it's truely Verizon, then why does it not say-so in the caller ID display? I thought they were suppose to identify themselves.

I am not entirely sure this is really Verizon calling.  It is usually my wife who is home when they call and she just tries to ignore them.  My only reason for doubting them is that it is possible to 'spoof' a phone number and maybe they are spoofing Verizon's, that's why when we call back they are already closed.

If any of us can actually take the call and verify the number with the person calling, we can see if it really is them.  If so.. then get the name, time and date of the call then we need to sue them for the $1500 a call that telemarketers can be forced to pay.

Track them down and call them at home!  I hate telemarketers!

Just got call from this number and after 3 rings I picked up to a dead line.  I too get many calls per month from this number even though I am on the DO Not Call list. Problem with this list is that there are "loop holes". If a company has had prior or present business with you then they can call you.  I have Verizon land phone service so they call to sell me FIOS which according to those Loop Holes they can do.  The Do not Call list still favors telemarketers. Having used a lawn service co (TruGreen)in the past their telemarketers were after me calling as much as 7 times a day and even right up to the cut off time of 9PM. They are relentless.

I received calls from this 877 number on Thu 5/28/08 (at 11:15AM), and twice on Tue 6/3/08 (12:34PM and 5:36PM).  And those are just the ones I kept track of.  I don't pick up when the caller ID says "UNKNOWN", and they never leave a voice message.  If it's Verizon, I'm heading to the local office tomorrow to bi*** at them.

Received calls on 25 February 2008 (6:14 PM) and 7 March 2008 (11:37 AM).  Did not take calls.

This is Verizon calling to sell you more useless junk.  

M-F from 7 am to 8 pm is when they are open but it is not yet 8 pm and they are closed.

Verizon sucks. They have the worst service ever.
