Did a call back, this is Verizon sales.

Four to five times a day - never leaves a message

Just got called, ignored. They called yesterday too. Thank goodness for caller ID!

They called me five times today.  It was as early as 8am and as late as 9pm

Me too...I arrive home to find not one, but several calls DAILY from that number.  Verizon used to a company concerned about maintaining a good reputation (MANY moons ago when their workers actually worked in the USA). Now they use sneaky tactics like blocking caller ID!  It's disgusting.

They call all day - early morning to late at night. We have a caller id, I recognize the number, and we don't pick up. Whoever is calling never leaves a call back message. The # on caller id but the name of caller is listed "unavailable". I have gone on the do not call registry and every other list I have found. I have also found the check/no check box if you wish/or not to receive future information from themselves or "affiliated" businesses at the bottom of my online bill statements. Still they call.

They called twice P.M. within two hours. I did not pick up and they left no message.

Called number back, recording said "Verizon Inbound Sales."

i have been getting phone calls all the time for that 877-236-8474 number too! everyday almost. and when i call back, the person hanged up and then every time i have called after that, it goes to a voice mail and it has a local number. stop f****n calling us, we have more important things to do besides answering an unimportant phone call from someone we dont even know. no i dont want your premium sevices, besides i already have maxed out on services provided by them. what could be so important to call all the time and not answer when i pick up??? gfys!!! how do you guys even know its verizon?

Calling non-stop.( every hour!) Finally answered b/c baby was sleeping. Got a Verizon representative on the line (Benny White). Said he would like to speak to decision maker of the account. My husband was not home at the time and I ended the call. I should have said "Stop calling here" but didn't. Said he would try back at another time.We'll see if that's in an hour or so :)

I called the number back which is what verizon's intent is to have you do; however, I did as the rest of you have, I had them place me on the do not call list, they said it would take 30 days to process. They also said I would no longer receive calls from verizon regarding any specials, big deal like I care, if I want something I will contact them.

I just got this bloody call about 10 minutes ago. Didn't leave a message. And they had their number blocked. These tossers are clearly trying to run some phishing scam. NOT AMMUSED!

TODAY THEY HAVE CALLED ABOUT 5 TIMES - I DON'T ANSWER AND WON'T

I called back to be placed on the Verizon Do Not Call List, the person I spoke to was very friendly and helpful.

It's Verizon all right.  It's their telemarketing service trying to sell new features and stuff.  Annoying as it may be, it's not a big deal if you call them back and ask to be put on their do not call list.  The lady I talked to was very nice and added our number to the list.  Effective in 30 days of course, but that's the federal regs.  As to why they are calling, well, if you have Verizon as your phone company they are allowed to call you even if you put your phone on the national do not call registry.  
Any company you have a service or fiduciary relationship with is exempted from the do not call.  Even the issuer of a credit card for another company.  For example, the May National bank of Ohio could call you if you have a Filene's or Lord & Taylor card.  The bad news is that they are not required to put their name on the back of the cards, though most do, so it doesn't hurt to ask.  I used to get calls from Citibank, with whom I've never had a direct account, because they issued my gas card. I requested them not to call me and they put me on the list and never called again.  
In short, be nice ask a couple questions and most of the time the callers are more than willing to acceed to your request not to call.  The only caveat is to be aware that they call still call you if you don't pay the bill or there is some problem.  
Also exempted, unfortunately, are charities, PACS, and surveys.  Those I reccommend hanging up on with a snarl, or if you feel brave, have a little fun and engage them in conversation about the weather or their job and how they like it.  Even worse, tell them all about your aching lumbago or something.  I did that once and never heard from that group again.  Mostly they are just people counting down the minutes until they can get out of there so why not break up their day a bit.

Started keeping tract of the amount of calls, finally answered and told who-ever was there to take my no. off the call list, lasted about four days, started again today, 03/18/08. Next is the A.G. if it doesn't stop.

It's Verizon. They're clearly understaffed, so when you pickup there's no one available to talk to you. I picked up and there was someone trying to sell me a new package or changes to my current plan.

Got a call from that number this morning. Didn't pick up. It left no message.

They call all the time and do not leave a message on the answering maching although I have do not call for my private phone number!

Caller calls and hangs up when you answer the phone.

I would like to know who is calling me twice this morning?
I don't see Verizon or they don't leave a message on my answering machine at all.
They just hung up on it.

hope you saw other message....VERIZON....one of the most uncustomer friendly companies in the world.  I was sure they were calling me to offer to return to me the $1400 I paid ... oh yes for services provided that I was too dumb to pick up on.  Please be very careful in signing up for auto pay ---- any utility, NYSEG offers that too!!!!  they automatic offer paperless billing!!!  sure sounds great doesn't it when your bill is not over $50 a month....but when you start using $200-300 a month...do they call you like your customer friendly credit union????   nope nope nope...they just provide the line and it is a ..... poor one at that

I got a call from this number too. I called back and the recorded message gave up the following:

I get calls every day from 877 236-8474 - no one is there!!!!!
