I just got a call from this number on my cell phone and there was a recording that said "please hold" when I answered.  I don't even live in MA.  Very strange.

This is a scam call. Don't trust that they are a collection agency. The person who posted that this phone number (877-242-7524) is contracted to collect debt for the MA Dept. of Revenue is a LIAR. He is part of the scam.

Recorded greeting "hello, it's important that we speak to you.  Please hold for the next available representative."  I hung up the third time that recorded greeting said the exact same thing and no representative came to the phone.  If it's that important, have a real live person call a place of business!!

This is a total scam. They say they represent the IRS of mass. I called the DOR as it is called now and was informed that they do not hire contractors to make there phone calls and that they always send letters if they have business with you. I also called Verizon and they confimed that this number is not affiliated with the DOR. These people wanted my SS# and when they didnt get it they got very threating with their tone. Please do not fall for this, its a big time scam!

I keep getting calls asking for people who doesn't live here and never has.The message is recorded stating if I wasn't that person hang up as the message is personal. Well fine and dandy I come home check all my calls and yup no persoanl message just call the number they leave with the babble reference number they mumble and can't make out,now why would I want to call a recorded message to listen to a recorded message or no one there.dah.Even if you do hang up they still keep on calling. In my book this is harrasment and am going to turn their numbers over to the attorney general,after all I am a senior citizen.not

II want to thank you guys for all this information.  EEOCA  has now been calling me telling me that they are a collection agency for the Mass Dept of Revenue on a liability. I'm not calling!

Yikes! I have been harassed with calls from EOCCA for several months now. They know my name when they call, but keep asking for me to verify my mailing address. They claim that they can not give me information until I give them my address.ThiWhen I ask what this is in reference to, they say "it is for a personal matter" and add that federal law will not allow them to disclose the reason for the call until I verify my address.  I tried calling them back, giving them the "account number" they leave on the message machine. They still won't tell me what it is about and demand I give them my address. I won't talk to them again. Too weird! BEWARE!

returned call from a message left.  abrupt person said he was calling about a  debt collection, mass bureau of collections .   did I have the reference number.  no.    He would look up my account if I gave him my ss#.

I called back at midnight, just out of curiosity.  The answering machine / voice mail asked me to leave my phone number and my tax ID number.  I don't think so......

They've called me twice asking questions but not giving me any information unless  I tell them my birthday and last four numbers of my SS.  I wouldn't and the conversation was over.  They did know my name and phone number and insisted that they spoke with me a few weeks ago and that "everything was worked out."  I told them nothing and hung  up on them.

the message your referring to is called a FOTI MESSAGE...its required under federal law under the fdcpa or fair debt collections practices act its a script that has be read verbatim...they cannot alter it in any way also if they are recording the call and most do these days they have to tell you up front also required under federal law and lastly the have to positively id you by last 4 of ss# full name and mailing address again required under federal law...all laws are fairly new and intended to protect the consumers privacy and personal information and its a 2 way street to protect them from people trying to trap the agency/law firm and file false law suits against them so keep in mind if you try to set them up all they have to do is pull the recording if you are right they are screwed if you are just trying to make a quick buck by claiming false FDCPA violations you are screwed so tread lightly...its not the 80's anymore the leg braking threat days are over....every company and every collector is held accountable at all times these days...most companies and law firms are legit and have contracts with the creditors debt buying is a thing of the past in most cases so dont assume that to be the case...i never heard of this company so i cant speak for them specifically but if you ever get a cal from Zwicker and associates in andover,ma you should take them very seriouslyas they are the 2nd largest natioal collections law firm in the country and they sue all clients they rep under contract in 48 0f 50 states excluding hawaii and alaska....i worked there for 10 years

they called my job harrassing me

Got a call on my cell phone number and I never give out that number to anyone. The caller stated that this was an attempt to collect a debt. They asked if I was this person and lived at two different addresses they had on file...never been to either. I asked them who was the company who hired them to collect and they said by law I had to verify my last 4 digits of my social and give my date of birth before they could give out any other info. I told them they were crazy if they thought I would give out that info. The caller then tried to intimidate me by saying that someone could be trying to use my S.S. number and charge up debts that could hurt my credit. I asked to speak to a supervisor and told them to remove my number from their records. Very rude and very suspicious...be careful not to give out ANY INFORMATION!!

Here's what i found out, they really are a collection agency,  Sirius had continued to charge me for my service after my contract was over, i wrote them to cancel but 2 months have gone and they sent my $32.00 debt to a collection agency instead of sending me a final bill, Idiots,  so some of these collections are for subscribtions that run if you don't call and cancel, it's all shady. So don't just assume your freakin Sirius is done, call and confirm. What a freakin nightmare!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT, I repeat! DO NOT give these people your checking account number to do automatic payment withdrawel to pay off ANYTHING, even STUDENT LOANS...they took double payments out of my checking account, without permission, sending my account into the negative, leaving my husband, myself and my 4 moth old with NO MONEY for gas, dog food, cat food, laundry soap. left me COMPLETELY BROKE, they want their money every month on time, but if the screw up up it takes a week to get your money back, sending you deeper in debt with your bank, not to mention any other bills that are NOW late because THEY TOOK ALL YOUR MONEY

CALLER CLAIMED TO BE FRM COLLECTION AGAENCY FOR PAYPAL...I HAVE NPO ISSUES WITH PAYPAL...THEY CALLED BEFORE YET WOULDN'T LEAVE A VM (for obvious reasons)

we are getting calls from a 1=800-455-8026. ext 14025 they have left a reference number to use also. Call back and no answers at that extension.

trying to collect $31,000.00 from me....really...and if  dont agree they would file a lawsuit in which i would have to pay $9-10,000.00 for...I could have been anyone they stated my last for and birth date...his name was mike from eocca. I asked who are you and what does eocca  mean, wouldnt tell me but kept trying to tell me I was in collections and owed him...Mike, if you read this, u are messing with the wrong girl....beware i have legit connections!

I've also been getting calls from EOCCA with a phone number of 800-836-3570. I suspected that it might be a scam because I seem to be on several scammers' radar screens these days. I'm glad I Googled "EOCCA" to verify my suspicions. I haven't called them back and I have no intentions of doing so. I'll tell my co-workers to hang up should they answer the automated messages for me because it's a scam and I'll also inform the Human Resources Dept. at work about them so that they won't give out any info (not that they would).
