Calls several times a week. We don't answer. They hang up before the answering machine picks up.
Jamin 2011-06-06 21:04:06 Unknown
Gotten about 10 calls the past couple days, sometimes within an hour of each other. I have an answering machine, but as soon as it picks up they hang up. What's so hard about leaving a message? I don't answer calls from calls whose name is not provided unless I know the number personally (friends/family on private list etc).

I got a call from this number today and it was regarding my Virgin Mobile bill. A small amount was left owing from last month's bill, but it was paid 2 days ago. The payment hadn't reached them yet so they were calling to "remind" me about the outstanding balance. I was leery of giving the lady any information so I asked HER to tell ME the same information that she wanted to know. Everything was good there. And the balance that she said was left owing was indeed the correct balance left over. This isn't a scam; pay your bills and they will quit calling. And let's not forget that Virgin is tied into Bell, so maybe that's why people are getting calls? Just saying. The lady I talked to never asked for any information other than my name and cell phone number and she was quite pleasant. Think about your bills before you start screaming "Scam!"

I received a call from this number, asking for my husband. I informed him that he was unavailable and that I would be glad to assist him if I could. I asked who he was and whom he represented. The caller rattled off something that was not intelligable and said that it was about some registry on line. He then proceeded to quickly hang up saying that he would call back at another time when my husband was available, before I had an opportunity to ask him to remove us from his call list. We are on a current "Do Not Call List" so I would love to know who thinks that it is O.K. to violate this wish.

Please note: If you have a relationship with the party that is attempting to reach you, the National DNC list does not apply. You will need to request to be placed on an internal DNC list at the company trying to reach you...
Additionally, it sounds like they are trying very hard to reach you. Maybe you should hear them out, after they contact you they will likely leave you alone for a set duration of time. Perhaps they will still try to reach you a couple times a year.

They just called (NCB), soon we are pulling all of our money out.

They call constantly from numerous numbers. They all come up on my ID as "Toll Free Services". It appears they are calling form National City Bank.

I personally like these types of calls... because I when I answer the phone and they start their spill... I just say .. can you hold on a minute.. I will be right back.. I want to get a pencil and paper... tnen put the phone down..and got back in about 20 minutes and hang it up.
Jamie 2011-06-06 21:04:06 Unknown
Mine is the same story! They are calling and not leaving a message... they really need to get a life. I don't have an account with them nor do I want an account with them. And I certainly don't appreciate being harrased by them!

I told them I was recording their message and the girl got very nervous. I asked to be taken off their call list and she said it would take 30 days. It's been 2 months and they still call numerous times a day. Who do I contact to complain? National City said they don't acknowledge those calls.

Contacted them via email several weeks ago asking them to stop calling. Got a reply that I had to phone in my request because email is not secure communications. Had to chuckle about them thinking the telephone is a secure means of communications. Regardless, I phoned and endured the extensive menu selection and finally talked with an uppity individual who seemed both amazed and outraged I didn't want unsolicited and meaningless phone calls from them. Had to supply federal employer number, account number, mother's mainden name, recite the Gettysburg address, and give the yeat the Detroit Lions last had a winning season. In other words, they make you jump through a few hoops. And, yes, they just called again.

These people were calling my parents home for two weeks straight looking for my Husband and I. I have been out of their home for ten years now. They are from National City apparently and we have never banked with them.
some girl 2010-01-08 17:00:24 Unknown
Just because you are on the DNC list does not mean that someone that you bank with can not call you. If you do business with that company they have every right to call you. They do not call from that number for collections. It is a group that checks on satisfaction and to see if the bank can make any improvements for you. They also let you know if there is anything better for you that can help you earn better interest rates.

Stop calling. Really!
If you cannot leave a msg; your purpose for calling is not for my benefit.
(enough said)

Recieved a call at home asking for me. When told I was not home and could I call them back they hung up. When I called the number back they said it said "Welcome to National City, if you know your reps 5 digit ext. enter it now; otherwise stay on the line, ". I held on for several minutes and no one came on the line. I called back 2 more times with the same results. I called a true NCB number and was told there had been no phone activity to my home through their company today. However, what I read on GOOGLE states it is NCB asking for service feed back and offering new services.

Maybe you should quit blaming the bank and start yelling at your daughter to be responsible, or maybe yell at yourself for not being a good parent, but noooo its the banks fault, what a cop out. and the reason they bought out your other bank is because they were no good and going under... hello PNC
That Guy 2009-06-27 02:56:48 Unknown
Still won't stop the calls... Jack***
That Guy 2009-06-27 02:55:54 Unknown
Because most of the retards that bank there only care about getting in and getting out. thats why they get hit with so many fees and dont know WTF is going on, because they are ignorant and dont understand that the employees are looking at the accounts and trying to help the customer as well. They want to keep customers by making them happy but ignorance seems to be running rampent in you inbreds.
That Guy 2009-06-27 02:53:36 Unknown
Ha make it stop... that will never happen. Muhahhahahahahah

Do not appreciate any annoying calls. Not behind in anything. Have 2 infant grandchildren...phone always wakes them. I'm on the Do Not Call list...don't understand why I still get them.

Six months and still calling. On the DO NOT CALL LIST. Apparently they don't give a S*#@.

Dont fall behind with National City, they will stick it to you. I recently lost my job through lay-off, i was 1 day late on a credit card payment and they raked me over the coals over it. Calling me 3 times in one day. They went as far as calling me the day after i made the payment to tell me to make my payments on time from now on. Most banks/credit card companies will work with you when you lose your job, not these leaches. They treated me like the dirt on the bottom of their shoes for being late one time. As soon as i get this card paid off im closing it and switching banks.

Yes, indeed I just received the same type of customer service survey from National Bank. As soon as I hung up I called the NB contact number from their website and they verified the number that showed up on my caller i.d. and confirmed it was a real survey call from their banking institution.
Detroit John 2009-02-06 20:15:26 Survey
Got a call and became a little suspicious. Thought it was someone trying to get personal info. Called the National Bank main number and they said it was a real NB person. They connected me with the person that had called me. Mostly NB getting some service feeback and offering new services. It's the real deal.
Chicago Kurt 2008-11-26 14:49:40 Telemarketer
Again, for the umpteenth time, NCB rang my phones using a masked 800 number. No message. So, if there was such an important reason to contact me, such as illegal activity on an account, why not leave a detailed message identifying the problem. I suspect its a marketing call masquerading as a survey. That seems to be the latest fad in telemarking scams. Is this what is being taught in higher education these days?
In any case, NCB has clearly gone down the tubes. What was once a decent small to medium sized bank that stuck to its role as banker, has now turned into a greedy behemoth, buying up smaller banks and capitalizing on the years of loyalty and goodwill those smaller banks have earned. Now with a bloated and unsuspecting customer base, it's cash-cow time for NCB. Gobbled-up bank customers beware.
I closed my two checking accounts with NCB months ago. The last straw was when a drive-thru teller wouldn't honor a check written by me from one account to the other without coming in the bank and talking to a personal banker. Good Lord!

Can also be from Collections Department at National City
I should also comment that they call for collections of late payments with any loan, credit card or account, as well as negative account balances
If in either above cases they call and either ask for a person that does not exist there or ask for you and you have no account with them , clearly notify them of this fact so they can correct their records or prevent any potential fraud.
ouchthatburns 2008-09-29 19:54:10 Unknown
these are calls from National City Bank's security Department, and occasionally collections.
Call are usually because something on an account raised an automated red flag, could be unusual fund transfer, changes in banking activity or habits, sending or receiving international funds, using checks outside usa ,receiving international checks, large deposits or withdrawls with account, or anything out that trips the switch on their computer.
They will never tell you this, but rather just call and ask about your account, and usually ask some questions, if they are satisfied they will just state it is a survey.
It is a combination of maintaining bank security and new federal banking requirements from the "patriot act"
