Seems like there was a thing on the news that Walmart had problems with some cards being compromised. I got the same charge after a week from using it in the store, In dispute with the credit card company right now. Also tied to something online as they told my credit card company all of my personal info like email, cell phone number etc.
Julie 2011-03-31 15:58:28 Unknown
I too had this charge in my account. I reported it to my bank, the refunded the money back to me until the investigation was complete. I immediately closed my account. After approximately two weeks, I was notified that the money was again withdrawn from my account and given to this AAMRKTSOL company, and that their business was in advertising. I was not allowed to learn of any other information. I used TurboTax to do my taxes but that was back in February.

Same story - on March 2, there was a $49.95 charge to my debit card. Called the number, first time, mailbox full. Today, got a recording to leave a message. No response so far and don't expect one. So glad I Googled that number and found all this evidence of a scam! Am going to print some and take to my bank to sign a protest.

I just found out that this place charged my card for $49.95. I have never heard of them and never had any dealing with then. They should be shot for stealing money from people.

This is a version of the automatic debit scam as described by the FTC here http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/telemarketing/tel06.shtm It's frequently mysterious as to how they got your account info in the first place. They might be fraudulently charging accounts at random or more likely you might have given/used your account to get something in exchange for a $-off coupon, a free something like a shopping card with a small shipping fee, etc., and buried in the fine print is authorization to auto-charge your account every month with bullsh*t difficult-to-cancel subscriptions. The methods used to get you to "agree" to the fine print is endless and they come up with new schemes every day.
To stop the billing, contact the scammer to kill the subscription and get your money back and if that fails, tell your card issuer or bank that fraud has occurred and have them refund the money and replace the account - this is important, the account must be replaced because criminals have it and they can charge again or sell account info to other criminals. Report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.

I received the same charge, but for $19.98. I had been on Ancestry.com, and my bank said AAA marketing Solutions got my card number through them.
mimi1 2011-03-15 16:08:02 Unknown
this also happened to me i only my card to pay for turbo tax and a charge of 49.95 came out of my checking account. i called the number and got a full voice mail box.
Judee 2011-03-15 16:02:13 Unknown
I got the same charge from the same company and got the same phone message when I called. I cancelled my card and ordered a new one. I don't use any of the websites mentioned.

Hi Mel,
It's all over. I just spoke with a guy from Austin, TX who it also happened too. It's a big scam going on and we have to get to the bottom of it. But I didn't go on line for WalMart, I went to the store, but as for Turbo Tax, that I did on line. So at least we are narrowing it down to a couple of places. I'm in CT. and my bank is New Alliance.
Nadine 2011-03-14 15:16:39 Unknown
OMG!!! I also used Turbo Tax for both my Fed and State Taxes but the $$ was deposited in my
checking account and withdrawn from my checking account. So could it be possible that something
in Turbo Tax site is leaking ou bank information???
Nadine 2011-03-14 15:13:02 Unknown
Hi Julia,
You're right!!! The same thing happened to me but I don't buy anything on-line or use Taxact but I have bought from WalMart the past two months!!! So there is our culprit - WalMart. The leak is in WalMart
feeding our Bank Card numbers to someone to process these charges. We need to get the FBI involved so this can be stopped and everyone is refunded. We work too hard for our money to be taken like this! This whole thing is a scam and they are getting rich off our money!!! My charge was 3/1 for
$49.95. This is ridiculous!

I was charged the same thing today, but the number listed on the charge is AAAMRKTSOL 888-852-8227. Got a mail box full when I called this number. The charge also list AZUS which I think is the state where this charge originated.
Peggy 2011-03-12 15:51:43 Unknown
I also used TurboTax on line to file my axes this week. The charge is pending for 3/15/11 and I know you can't do a fraud affidavit until the charge acually hits you bank account or charge card.
Donna 2011-03-11 15:04:03 Unknown
This happened to me on Feb. 28 and was posted on March 2, according to my credit card. The amount is like all of you, $49.95. I also tried calling the number only to find a full mail box. I have the charge in dispute with my credit card company, but it makes you feel very vulnerable and violated!!
Donna 2011-03-11 14:57:30 Unknown
I did my taxes using Turbo Tax and used the e-file for Fed and State which used my credit card. The only other thing I used that card for were at merchants, not on line.
Donna 2011-03-11 14:53:13 Unknown
The same thing happened to me and I called the number and got a full mail box as well. I called the credit card company to dispute the charge. I don't recognize the company or the charge. Was the charge made to your account in the amount of $49.95?
Shell 2011-03-11 00:51:31 Unknown
Same thing here $49.99 debited from our account. Disputed the charge with the bank they are looking into it for now, but the card has been canceled as a result. Still out the money for now until it is resolved however.
Joan 2011-03-09 23:03:36 Unknown
This is a telemarketing company that somehow charge my bank account $49.95 and when you call the number they say the mailbox is full and disconnect the call. The number you can call is 888-852-8227 and they advised that they would credit my account back and send me an e-mail confirmation. I still do not understand how they got my credit card number?

My bank called 888-852-8227

I had my bank called them its some internet ad company. They will say you sign up for some google marketing advertising to make money. I ha them delete the charges
VALLEYGIRL60 2011-03-06 19:04:33 Unknown
Got 49.95 from my account today - I haven't used any one of those websites listed above. It's a scary situation. Just makes you mad!!
Mel 2011-03-06 15:17:55 Unknown
I suppose that your right. My husband and I disputed the charge. The bank said that they would look into it, the woman that I spoke to, said she didn't expect to hear anything back.
What is quantum cryptology? I think I've heard of it before.
Derek 2011-03-05 15:58:48 Unknown
There doesn't have to be a common factor. Everybody that has a Debit or cedit card or even bank account for that matter is at risk. the information is stored on a data base. A hacker that is really good can break into any system even the Gov. You can minimise the risk by not buying online at risky sites but in the end you can never be totally secure. That is the reallity with the information age. Untill they are able to use quantum cryptology, our information will always be at risk.
