The number they called for me was my father-in-laws phone number.  It was a woman that left the message and wanted me to return the phone call.  After I received the message from my father-in-law, I called the number and noone would answer, so I started doing my research on the computer.

They called my mom earlier.  She wouldn't give them my phone number so she gave me that 877 number to call back.

I believe it is a case of mistaken identity.  I have a very uncommon last name, but there is one other person in my former home state where my parents live that has it as well.  This guy owes 75 dollars to the city I haven't lived in since I was about 6 or 7 and they probably looked the name up in some databases, couldn't find contact info for me because I haven't lived in that state for about 6 or 7 years now, so they called my parents.

I told him about the mix-up, but he sounded a bit unbelieving.  I'm sure they hear a million excuses why a person can't pay some bill.

I hope I don't get held responsible for this, though.  It bothers me that someone with my same name is out there working up bad credit.  The last thing I want to do is have to straighten out my credit report constantly because some doppleganger can't pay his bills on time.

Researched number,  this is not the real number.  Real number is (701) 642-5572.  Still don't vouch for the legitimacy of the real number.  Call might be a crank call or fraudulent.

Collection agency.  CCB inc according to my caller ID.  You may or may not actually owe anything.

This number and the 701 # are for Credit Collections Bureau in Bismarck ND, not Consumer Credit Bureau. They give you the 877# to call so it's toll free and you don't have to pay any charges.  And, by the way, from experience working with them(I do payroll where I work), they will garnish your wages if you ignore their calls.  They are also very willing to work with a majority of people if they are up front about their debt and desire to pay.

that number is for a debt collection agency, i suggest you call and pay it because they sue thousands of people a year.

Rec'd message for me to call this number. I returned the call- it was asking for employment verification for X person.

i have had this number left for me to "hi angie, this is donna, please return this very important call."  well, it said 701-250-1392 on my caller id. i believe they get by our voicemails by having just any old number so they can leave a message that tells you absolutely NOTHING....last week i got a call from 'unavailable-000000'....have gotten a few of those....i don't answer them but i'm going to start.Oh wait! i just got a call from the 701 # & it now says 'CCB Inc'...ggrrrrr....:-))

I also have been receiving phone calls from 701-250-1295 and asked to call the same 877-250-7147. Once was a guy named "John" and then a girl called. On one of the messaged they stated "they had my resume in front of them and needed me to call that toll free number to answer some questions they had. I have not called either back because I am not sure who it is or how they got my number.
