Charter has that annoying habit of calling with different numbers.
I do not want more services but they continue to call.

I just got a call from a collection agency that works for Charter. Not Charter but a COLLECTION AGENCY. I am 5 days late. I have never had a late payment before and this payment wasn't late. They played musical billing centers with me and this time I had to mail the payment to Madison WI. I Mailed the check 8 days before it was due and at the same time mailed a card to my Aunt in Eau Claire, WI. The mail for Eau Claire goes through Madison. My Aunt received her card in 4 days.
So five days after it is due I get called by a collection agency. I am pissed off !!! I have always paid on time and they didn't post my payment for 14 days after I mailed it.
I am cancelling their stupid service in the morning. It cost me $121.00 a month just for basic TV and internet.
I know I can get it cheaper from someone else and also I am just using an antenna for TV after this. No more Charter Communications.
They even had the guts to just call me from 877-252-8704 to ask if I wanted to bundle phone with my lousy expensive internet and basic TV. They haven't been able to keep my internet working right for the last 15 years what makes them think they can get phone service to work for me.

Cold Calling ? Nothing More Than Unfocused Marketing and restricted, plus a waste of time ?. There are plenty of ways that companies and services have attempted to ensure that the voice of their product is heard. Not just heard but, should be heard by a lot of people. Different methods have been implemented so far, but sadly most of them do not generate instant sales. Cold calling is one example of this. Though most of us are aware of what exactly cold calling is (because of being regular victims of this gimmick) but for those who are still safe, cold calling over the phone is when you phone someone (repeatedly) without their prior permission. The term cold is used here because the customers have not requested your call and aren?t expecting it either. Have a look why cold emailing or emailing is nothing more than a gimmick: Cold calling is not as effective as it used to be in the past. Plenty of new technologies are available and it is so easy with them to call and irritate customers. But now people don?t like to be interrupted for a long while and as a result they filter such calls, leading to a big failure of this marketing trick. It makes customers (victims) lose all respect for annoying companies ?. Cold calling is often mistakenly believed as telemarketing and both of them are lumped together in the same category in consumer minds. But whatever the case may be they are interpreted as unscrupulous marketing strategies which pose negative effect on your business. A negative image means a great loss of respect and trust in the entire marketing industry. Cold calling is not needed by any of us because it never provides us with valuable details about anything. It always like they say what they are programmed to say and not what we would want to listen. People can always Google all the valuable information that is actually needed, so it is irritating to get interrupted for no use. In this super-fast age of social networking, cold calling is simply a failure. This is an old process that targets one person at a time thus wasting valuable time. On the other hand social media networking allows you to be at many places at a time. A good marketer always knows that this business builds over time where time wastage is money wastage. It poses negative effect on your business ?. Calling someone all the time reflects that you have a lot of time to waste and irritate a busy, successful person. This negative image can easily place you on the left side of success numbers.

It is Charter Communications. Called this number back, actually spoke with someone. They are trying to sell more services. Asked to be removed from calling list and was told that I would be removed but it would take up to 20 days to do so. In the meantime, she said, I might get more calls but after 20 days there would be no more. We'll see.

This is Charter Communications trying to upsell their own customers. The NO CALL LIST doesn't apply here, as we have "a present business relationship" with Charter (internet service)
I just can't wait for a reasonable cost high speed alternative to come here. I will then be an EX-Charter customer.

Your city fathers choose which cable companies can service your area. Charter service sucks! They sabotage magicJacks and their high speed hangs up and stops dead when you download movies...makes you have to start over at the beginning. Write to your Mayor and City Council to ask for better providers and a complaint to the local BBB might be helpful as well. Then try calling the local tv news station for a story, if the city fathers fail to ack responsibly. Chater calls my number daily, trying to sell more service. The service they provide is lousy. City fathers are clearly on the take here...and I hope that will change if when they are asked to do so. The only other provider these city fathers have hooked up with is AT&T and that service is down more than it is up. Beware, which ever service you choose in the future...try them without a contract and put things in writing...especially when you tell them to cancel service. AT&T kept billing after they were cancelled and only quit after the filing of a BBB complaint. I had my cancellation noted on the face of my final payment check.

They're calling me daily.
Good thing I can save the number in my address book, and then tell my phone to send all such calls directly to voicemail.

Charter, stop calling me!
| GaryH 2012-11-29 20:59:34 Unknown |
I too am a Charter customer, with auto-pay by credit card set up and working. (though it took nearly two billing cycles to confirm it was set up and that I didn't have to manual pay.) No voice mail left. Must have been them selling bundle packages.

877-252-8704 is charter's sales department trying to sell your more or change your service, if you call the number back they will remove you from their calling list

In the past 2 weeks alone, this number has called me nearly 20 times!. I am not in default or late to charter: I just want to keep my original order of just internet. If I had wanted (could afford) a groundline & cable or what-have-you, I would have done it while the new-customer- bundling deals were good! It totally defies logic to harass your own customers like this! they're losing this customer asap..

calls every day, sometimes evenings, even on weekends. never with useful account info, just obtrusive and bullish telemarketing

Charter has a customer service team on Twitter at @Charter. I was able to get support quickly by tweeting at them and telling them that I'd been called twice on the same day, while I was at work. I got followed and tweeted at by one of their folks who said he would reach out to marketing to expedite the 30-day process, and a couple hours later he tweeted me again and said I was now on the DNC list and should not receive any more calls. So, hoping for the best now.
