We get a call every week or so with a few seconds of creepy music left on the answering machine.  Tried calling this number and no one answered.

Machine picked up, no message, happens twice a day sometimes always late afternoon.

I tried to switch to AT&T internet service but instead they slammed me into their long distance phone service.  I think my internet service is still the same.  I never changed anything with the modem or anything.

Yesterday, 11/29/08, a new song was played on my answering machine.  I thought I heard some Spanish words but couldn't be sure.  One of my so called friends left a message and said, we were through, earlier that day.  What if he is working for the police as an informant and since I wasn't' returning his calls and he had nothing to offer the police they cut him off and that is why he cut me off?  Hmmm.  Also, the medical community has it in for me and they're trying to get me to buy health insurance so that they can get me in their hospital, overdose me with sedatives and throw me on that life-support  machine like they did to my father.  I saw the witch punch the needle into my dad's arm three or four times.  The police are also scanning my cell phone.  What's a guy supposed to do? :)

I got three calls so far with the song playing "I've been terribly alone" thoughs are the only lyrics that play.  The first was a week ago and I thought it was hold music, then I got a second call same thing just a few days ago, then I was on the phone with someone telling them about it and then I got off of the phone and went to the back of the house and I came back out and there goes the same message again on the answering machaine. But it always says private caller. What is going on?

I have received this same call twice. The music is "It's just another day and I'm terribly alone? The call came once in September and once in October.
The calls came to my home phone and I live in So Cal.  Cable phone.

Received same call with the message "I'm terribly alone".  I have AT&T home telephone service and live in Southern California.  First message came in 11/19/08 at 4:24 PM.

Any chance these calls are a really bad marketing idea from one the the internet dating sites? Are any of you receiving these calls not signed up on one?

Same "I am terribly alone" background music crap; but coming from an 866 area code number.

Did your dad just die?  Anyone in your family die?

I live in So California as well.  I've been getting this call every few days for weeks now, each time with the song.  I have AT&T, not Verizon.

Played the "I'm so terribly alone" snippet for 5 seconds then hung up.  We live in So. Cal. and screen our phone calls, to discourage telemarketers from wasting our time (the do-not-call registry only gets you so far).  Don't call us, we'll call you....

I keep getting the same call!!!!! we have now had a message on our house phone with someone singing "I've been terribly alone" and thats it. We have gotten the message twice now. FREAKY!

Same here.  A song omes on saying I have been terribly alone".. and no numbe rleft on the machine to trace. It is the same time exactly. and it was 5 days apart.  i am female, my husband works for the government... and that is all i can think of.. I live in CA.

Yes and I I hear is a bit of a song saying "Ive been terribly alone.." and that is it... on the message machine.  I live in CA. DOes your husband work for the government?

`this call comes in at exactly 8:43...twice in october. it plays a sinatra ?? song... just a little bit says   "Ive been terribly alone" and that is it. no ID is left on my message machine.

Also recieved a "musical" message from this guy *I've been so lonely" or something like that. The person called weekly(from caller ID), same day and it was a male person the last time he called saying he was with some "Firemans" association. I know we have received a call from a "Firemans" association in the past, so it could have been the same guy. Do you try to track this guy down when so many people have reported him?

Oh my goodness, a wave of relief just hit me reading all this. I thought this was targeted at me only but to know that others have had it also makes me feel better. I get the same lyrics at the answering machine, but for only the home number. I'm not sure how I can block it but I really want to, it's just way too creepy. I don't think I could ever listen to that song the same way ever again. :[

Same thing just happened to me, heard a song, then the person hung up. I think mine was Tony Bennett too.  How odd!  I haven't cancelled a cell phone lately, no run ins with police, etc.  What's the common demoninator?  Our # is a home # and it's fairly new, we just got it in June....

Calls me every night, no voice, no music.  What is their point here?

I blew this off as a friend playing a prank, but happened to google the "I've been terribly alone" lyrics to see what song it was.  Glad I came across this site to know it's been happening to lots of people.

There are disturbing calls from this number with the song "I've been terribly alone on the recorder."  We call back and there is no answer.

I was trying to figure out who the singer was.  I thought it was Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra.  Thanks for the tip on Tony Bennett.  Why is this happening to me?  Did you just cancel Verizon cell phone too?  Any run-ins with the police?  Could you be under investigation like me?

I've been getting the same recording on my answer machine sometimes 2x's a day. I've never picked up the phone and the call is really weird.  Same song too.
